Pregnancy Assistance Center North (PACN)

Pregnancy Assistance Center North (PACN) PACN serves women by offering whole person care for sexual health and pregnancy decisions.

PACN is a 501(c)3 non-profit that educates regarding pregnancy and sexual health issues. It is the only center of its kind in Montgomery County providing entirely free and confidential services to thousands each year. PACN believes women and men deserve access to unbiased, client-centered care that is relevant, compassionate and accurate, particularly when facing an unplanned pregnancy or sexual health concern. Medical services include pregnancy testing, ultrasound services, prenatal education/counseling and sexually transmitted disease (STD) testing for chlamydia, gonorrhea and HIV. Educational classes and support groups are open to the community, including Childbirth & Newborn Care and Healthy Relationship Skills for Couples. Beauty for Ashes is a support group for women and men who have been sexually abused, and the Confidential Abortion Recovery & Education (CARE) program helps participants identify and confront post-abortion symptoms in a healing, compassionate environment. Vouch for Success is a self-paced educational program where clients can earn credits to redeem for baby items. Each year, PACN sees about 7,000 client visits, and 60 percent of clients are between the ages of 15-24. Most are referred by family or friends, while others find PACN on the Internet. Another seven percent are referred by a physician/medical facility or social service agency. Others say they found help simply by driving by and seeing the sign in front of the building.
