So the story of Charles begins back in October when Charles and Susan found out she was expecting a baby who would make his presence known in July 2016. The first sign that something was wrong was after we received the results of the quad-screen which showed that one of the test results was outside of the normal ranges. Well we went in for the 18 week ultrasound in order to rule out spina bifeda. After the ultrasound the doctor came in and explained that they did not see anything that would resemble spina bifeda but they did see 2 issues which could be a problem. They found what they thought was a cyst inside of the brain and they were concerned with something in the heart which they were unable to identify. They scheduled a fetal MRI, Echocardiogram, and follow up ultrasound. On March 8 we went in to have these tests done not expecting what we got back. After all of the tests the neurologist came in and explained that they found a number of problems including Cerebellar Hypoplasia, Imperferate A**s, Hyperspadius, and slow growth. We were still waiting for the echocardiogram which was scheduled right after that appointment. After the echo we met with the cardiologist who then explained that there were a number of cardiac abnormalities which may be related to the high blood pressure of Susan but may be related to the underlying syndrome which is unknown at this time. We wound up having an amniocentesis done on the 9th and we are currently awaiting the results of the test
