Are you a caregiver? Then there is a good chance that you aren't necessarily always doing what you need to do, to take care of yourself.
Women especially, seem to always be caring for someone else. Our children, grandchildren, our spouse, friends or our aging parents. That is of course on top of our household responsibilities, our jobs, church, volunteer work, friendsand our sociallife.
We move from one stage of life to the next all while continuing to take of those who are most important to us. But what about us? unfortunately, we frequently seem to end up neglecting ourselves. Because at the end of the day we either are too tired or we've simply run out of time.
So maybe we should all take the time to evaluate what our lives look like. Are you over worked? Overwhelmed? Over stressed?
Maybe you can find things that are less important to eliminate from your routine or your to do list. Find ways to take care of YOU and make your well being, mentally and physically, a priority. Because otherwise we'll run ourselves ragged and we'll find ourselves out of steam. Then who's going to take care of our loved ones?? Who's going to take care of us??
Our health and overall well-being being is essential to everything else we want to accomplish in a day, week, month , year or lifetime.
So what are you willing to do in order to take care of yourself.
Caregivers inevitably put themselves last, but even small acts of self-compassion can help sustain both their health and emotional well-being.
