No matter who you are or where you are in your recovery journey, support is here.

Every Tuesday, our Dual Recovery Group meets at the Hope & Healing Recovery Community Center from 4:15 PM to 5:15 PM — a peer-led space where mental health and substance use recovery come together.

Guided by one of our Peer Specialists, this group offers a supportive, judgment-free space where individuals can share lived experiences, gain encouragement, and explore recovery-focused activities.

So remember you are not alone.

The Halloween season wouldn’t have been complete without our Support Services and Health Home Care Management teams’ annual Halloween Door Decorating Contest!

From spooky to spook-tacular, our staff went all out with creative, festive designs that brought the season to life.

But the best part? Our East Side Center members get to join in on the fun as judges — choosing which door takes home the title of “Best Door”!

This tradition isn’t just about decorations — it’s about connection. Activities like this foster social support, creativity, and a sense of belonging, all of which are important for mental health and wellness. By involving our members, we celebrate community and remind everyone that being part of something joyful and collaborative can be just as healing as it is fun.

What door is your favorite? Let us know below!

Sometimes it’s not about having everything on hand or having every resource at our disposal. It’s about being resourceful with what we do have, and meeting ourselves in the middle.

When it comes to mental health and wellness, growth doesn’t come from perfection; it comes from persistence. Healing happens in the small moments: choosing to try again, asking for help, taking time to rest, or simply acknowledging that today is hard.

Every step forward, no matter how small, is still progress. You don’t need to have it all figured out to begin. You just need to start, right where you are.

So remember to give yourself credit for showing up. That’s where change begins.

Daylight Savings is here!

We’ve officially “fallen back” and gained an extra hour — how are you using it?

As we shift into shorter days and longer nights, it’s a great time to check in with yourself. Use today’s slower pace to rest, reset, and focus on what supports your well-being. A little extra self-care, whether it’s catching up on sleep, taking a walk in the daylight, or simply slowing down can make a big difference as we head into the darker months ahead.

Be kind to yourself today — you deserve it.

November is Homelessness Awareness Month.

We believe in meeting people where they are—offering support, resources, and care without judgment. Homelessness is often tied to mental health challenges, trauma, and obstacles that make it difficult for people to access the help they need.

This month, we shine a light on these challenges and work to remove the barriers that stand between people and safety, stability, and wellness. Everyone deserves a place to call home and access to the care that helps them thrive.

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of being part of Seasoned by SUNY Adirondack ’s Culinary Arts Program for their nonprofit Thursday dinners for our Cultivating Community Fundraiser Dinner!

Guests enjoyed four delicious courses featuring fresh produce from our Wellness Garden, including carrots and butternut squash with kale, and cabbage from the college garden, all thoughtfully paired and beautifully presented.

It was incredible to see so many familiar and new faces in the room—community members, volunteers, staff past and present, board members, and donors—all coming together to support our mission.

All proceeds from this fundraiser will go directly to support our Wellness Garden’s programming and efforts, helping it grow and thrive season after season.

Thank you to Seasoned staff and students, SUNY Adirondack, and everyone who made last night unforgettable!

At Housing First, our residents and staff are breaking out their finest ideas and most creative energy to celebrate Halloween Spirit Week! Each day has featured a new theme, activity, and way to come together, filling the week with laughter, connection, and community spirit.

These celebrations aren’t just about fun — they’re also a wonderful way to promote mental wellness, encouraging self-expression, social connection, and a sense of belonging.

Halloween is a time for creativity, connection, and fun, but it’s also a good reminder to care for your mental and emotional well-being. Whether you’re celebrating with friends, family, or enjoying a quiet night at home, take time to do what feels right for you.

Stay mindful of your energy, respect your boundaries, and look out for those around you. A safe, enjoyable night is one where everyone feels comfortable and supported.

Wishing you a happy, healthy, and safe Halloween!

The newest mural is transforming our Café and Kitchen into a vibrant reflection of nourishment and connection. Each brushstroke adds life to the fruits and vegetables that represent the heart of our East Side Center Lunch Program, fresh, healthy, accessible meals that bring people together.

This mural isn’t just about color; it’s about what happens here every day. It celebrates the care that goes into preparing meals, the conversations shared across the table, and the belief that access to healthy food is a vital part of wellness.

As it progresses, we can’t wait to share how this art brings even more life and meaning to the space where community gathers, eats, and grows together.

This wouldn't have been possible without the support of our paint donor Colorize INC of Queensbury.

This Halloween season, we took a moment to celebrate our incredible staff and promote workplace wellness with a little spooky fun! Our BOO Grams, thoughtful treats delivered to brighten the day, offered more than just candy; they provided a moment to pause, connect, and recharge.

Activities like these play an important role in mental wellness at work. Taking time for lighthearted, intentional gestures helps reduce stress, strengthen team connections, and foster a positive, supportive environment.

We’re grateful for our team and love finding creative ways to support their well-being!
