How do feel about meditation in public?
This used to be something that I was intimidated to do! And my mind would go to the What Ifs:
•What if people see me?
•What if people think I’m weird?
•What if I can’t do it in the chaos?
But what if we dropped those limiting beliefs and realized that other peoples opinions are not part of your power!
What if we just did what felt good in our body without fear of judgment?
When you get to that point you meditate on a carrousel at the St.Louis zoo, not caring what people think because you need a moment of peace from mouthy teenagers! (Really wish got a picture of that)
And you don’t give a f**k What anyone thinks cause your sanity is more important!

I’m a firm believer that the universe gives us lessons that we must GROW THROUGH!
Tough times never last, but we are all tough enough to get through them, we just need to figure out that lesson and move past it!
I’m not saying it needs to happen overnight, or even in a certain amount of time but just like the seasons we can change, we can shed what is no longer serving us, go within ourselves, we can blossom and we can always look toward the sunlight for strength!
Right now I’m in the the season of looking inside myself, but I’m also looking forward to blossoming!

How do you grow joy?
In a world that is so digital it’s hard not to play the comparison game! I know, because I have often played that game! The problem is that your only really playing the game by yourself!
We never really know what someone’s life is like in the other side!
A simple way that I have found to help me deal with the comparison game is MEDITATION! Meditation brought me gratitude and gratitude brought me more joy and even now, when I’m feeling the comparison game play out in my head I return to gratitude and unplug!
I’ve blocked, paused and even deleted people when I have felt the comparison set in, & that is ok on social and real life!
Grow your own garden of joy!

It sure is, but it’s also kinda interesting how some situations bring out the calmness & others make you a little CRAZY!
As a mom I’ve had my times of being calm in crazy situations! My oldest daughter was but in the face by a neighbor’s spaniel when she was 4 years old! I remained calm, stoped the bleeding, kept her calm and called her dad! He showed up and went F💣 crazy & freaked her out!
Another mom moment was alien my youngest daughter started having seizures! I had to pull over try to call 911, even though my stupid phone was only adding those numbers to my last call! I got her out of her car seat & kept her on her side till the ambulance showed up!
I don’t always stay calm though! Technology seems to get my blood boiling sometimes! The other day my work from home computer wasn’t working and I was pi**ed, I was under a deadline! So I grabbed the dog 🐶 (not a wise choice on my part) & jogged to my office to finish my project! I was able to laugh about it as I was leaving work at 7:30pm!

I found a lump!
Oh, this was a phrase I was so scared to say or even share but it’s so important to talk about!
The last couple of weeks have been a roller coaster of emotions, practicing gratitude, lots of meditating and focusing on family, crying, trying to b stay positive & having super supportive friends have helped me a ton!
Please remember to check in on yourself, get your exams & if your at that age, go get your b**b squished!

Sometimes “Self Care” looks like a piece of bathroom art that you’ve been wanting to complete!
In the spirit of Self Care September I decided to put away my TO DO LIST & focus in something that felt good! So I picked up a canvas & a paintbrush and found some art to paint for the remodeled bathroom!
Self care doesn’t have to be something that feels like work, it should be relaxing & fun!

Can you believe it’s September already?
I’m not sure I’m ready for those cold days but if I continue to put my self care first this winter won’t be so SAD (Seasonal affective disorder) for me!
My mood in the weather and I can often feel those changes in the beginning of fall all the way through the winter months! I struggle with depression, I get moody, my energy drops, I loose interest in things I love, like going outside!
I don’t enjoy the cold so when that already low temperature drops I know I need to up my self care!
I’m curious, does your mood change with the seasons?

And don’t you forget it!
Growing up I didn’t really receive a lot of positive reinforcement in regards to my passion for what I wanted to be when I grow up!
So when I became a parent I knew that I wanted to support and encourage my kids in whatever they wanted to do or be (within reason cause, ya know I’m a mom)!
•The oldest wants to design video games - go back to school son!
•The tallest wants to move to Japan and do programing and teach english - 5+ years of Japanese YES do it!
•The local son wants to cook (he gets it from his dad) - lets figure it out son cause your amazing!
•The oldest daughter wants to be a vet - she loves animals so much & is currently in FL working on this reality!
-The youngest daughter is such an amazing artist and is working on a book - lets self publish kid!
And lets not forget about the mom who wants to do her part to make plastic a thing of the past or the mom who has a dream she is afraid to share! Lets just do it!

Not only you mama, but your beautiful kids too!
This season of life that we are all headed into is unprecedented but that doesn’t mean it needs to be filled with fear and anxiety!
Before the decision came to move to a completely virtual school year I was manifesting the hell out of a normal school year or even a split one! We all know how that turned out!
I never thought I would add 8th grade teacher to my resume, but here I am & I’m ready to go into it with so much love and creativity!
I know for a fact that my kids will pick up the attitude that I put out into the world & if I go into this school year acting like a stressed out spaz all the time (I’m sure those days will come but I’ll try to maintain my composure) they they will pick up on that energy!
Think of it this way; it’s like training horses or puppies or any animal! They can smell fear and if you let them, they will eat you alive! Show no fear & be calm!

It was a little hard to get out of my head this morning!
Last weekend was just what I needed & also an excuse to run away from my anxiety, but being back home and in a routine I feel off and a bit out of wack!
This girls weekend that I’ve been planning with my girl for her birthday was needed, it was fun and there is a dynamic of this squad that I wish for women everywhere! They (we) just accept you for who you are and the recurring phrase of “your so pretty” is used both as a reminder and a little inside joke!
So when I say it was good to get away with my girls I mean it, but it didn’t really solve the anxiety I was running away from, it’s still here in the form of work, virtual school, finding who or what I want to do when I grow up, and balancing a relationship with myself and my S.O.
So this morning as Tony walked out the door and left me with a kiss he also left me in a cloud of Sage smoke!
Sage is part of the Salvia family of plants and is derived from the Latin word salvere, meaning “to heal.” Well SAGE, heal me cause I’m feeling kinda all over the place! Smudging (or saging) has been around for thousands of years and it is said to have physical, mental & emotional benefits! Yep I’m in need of all of that right now!
I don’t always burn sage before I meditate but this morning I felt like I needed a little help to raise my vibration, so lit a candle and some sage and went in a clockwise rotation around my yoga room and saged myself as well! If I could roll around in I probably would have, but that just seems like a bad idea as well as a fire hazard!
My morning practice is only part of the work! Sitting with myself, understanding where the anxiety is coming from and adding movement to my daily routine is essential to my overall wellness!
If you are also going through any form of anxiety, please know you b are not alone! Don’t forget to check in with yourself today and add some type of movement to your day, getting outside can sometimes change your whole outlook!
