Special Needs Division, Ms. Kimberly Holyfield!

Salutations!
My name is Kimberly Holyfield. I am a graduate of Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University, where I obtained a Bachelor’s in Psychology, and a Master’s in Clinical Psychology. At present, I am employed with Alabama Department of Mental Health Developmental Disabilities Division, where I serve as the Community Services Director. I have 17 years of experience in the field of Mental Health. As the Director, I navigate a comprehensive array of services and supports to individuals with Intellectual Disabilities and their families, in the northern region of the state. It is my passion and desire to influence positive change for persons with Intellectual Disabilities and help them live freely among the community without stigma. Also, to assist the community by providing awareness and knowledge when interacting with the various disabilities and giving insight on how to successfully de-escalate crisis situations.

As a proud member of Hope Community Church, you will see me serving in different ministries; Hope Community Mass Choir, Praise Team, Drama Ministry, Outreach Ministry, and occasionally assisting with the Children’s Ministry. I am so excited to now be a part of E.M.B.R.A.C.E. Mental Health Ministry, looking forward to working with you!

Special Needs Division, Ms. Jocelyn Jackson!

Greetings!
I am Jocelyn Jackson. I graduated from Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Special Education. Currently, I service students in Huntsville City Schools, and have done so for approximately the past 10 years. There I have serviced numerous students with various disabilities, mental health conditions, etc. As an educator, I do my best to give each child the tools necessary to improve their mental, physical, emotional, and educational mind to become the best version of themselves.

At Hope Community Church, you will see me most frequently on Praise Team, in the choir, and involved in the Outreach Ministry. I look forward to working with you through E.M.B.R.A.C.E. Mental Health Ministry!

The visionary of E.M.B.R.A.C.E, Bishop Ava Farr!

A dedicated Pastor of the Hope Community Church here in Huntsville, AL. Bishop Farr saw a need to help diminish the stigma about mental health in the church and the community. When God gave her the vision for EMBRACE Mental Health Ministries, she wrote the vision and made it plain and recruited a team of individuals who also had the heart for the vision that would take the vision and run with it. Bishop Farr and her Team are excited to offer useful tools to the church and community along with a certified counselor who facilitates the session currently being held at Hope Community Church.
