What is “child-led” speech therapy? 🤔

Picture Buddy the Elf.
Big feelings. Big energy. Big commitment to fun.

Child-led therapy doesn’t mean no structure…
It means we sneak the structure inside the fun. 😉

For example:
🗣️ Working on speech sounds?
We might do “practice words”…
🎲 while playing a game
🚗 while racing cars
🎯 while taking turns
🍿 while cheering dramatically (Buddy would approve)

Child-led therapy means:
✔️ We follow your child’s interests to keep them engaged
✔️ Practice is woven into play (yes, even drills!)
✔️ Kids work harder because it feels fun
✔️ Therapy still has goals, data, and progress… just fewer tears

Some kids need repetition to build clear speech.
We just don’t make it boring.

Think:
❌ Sitting at a table saying words on repeat
✅ Saying words to win the game, beat the timer, or help the dinosaur escape

Like Buddy in New York City, therapy works best when kids feel excited, confident, and a little proud of themselves.

Because learning sticks when kids are having fun…
…and when the adult leading therapy knows exactly when to play and when to practice. 🎄✨
