Job Description

Rocket City Speech Therapy is a small, growing pediatric private practice built on neurodiversity-affirming care, child-led play therapy, and strong parent partnership.

Our clinic is sensory-friendly and relationship-focused.

We are looking for an SLP who values meaningful therapy, enjoys working closely with families, and wants to make a real impact in the lives of children.

Responsibilities:

Provide pediatric speech and language evaluations and therapy in a clinic setting

Collaborate with parents and caregivers during sessions

Support children with AAC and multimodal communication

Maintain documentation and treatment planning

Contribute to a positive, supportive clinic culture

Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology

Alabama SLP license (or eligible)

ASHA CCCs preferred (CFs welcome to apply)

Interest in AAC and neurodiversity-affirming care

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

All sessions conducted in clinic

I'm Melba, Speech Therapist, owner of Rocket City Speech Therapy, an AAC specialist, and most importantly, a mom of 2 amazing kids.

After being a pediatric speech-language pathologist for 20 years and working in every setting possible, I decided to open my own practice, dreaming of serving families in the New Market/ North Huntsville area. Rocket City Speech Therapy was launched 2 years ago and has grown so quickly! I am honored to serve so many amazing families in the community and hope to get to expand more in the next few years to be able to serve even more families in the New Market/North Huntsville area!
