Death is political. Yes this is a death education page but I can't help you explore your options if ICE takes them from you.
Today let's talk about Holographic Will.
A holographic will is a handwritten and dated document explaining what your final wishes are. They're not as strong as a full legal will drawn up with and kept with an attorney, and if you are in a position to you absolutely should see an estate attorney.
In the meantime though you should have at least a holographic will. Especially if you're not sure your immediate family who knows your wishes will be safe. Or if you have a potentially contentious or complicated estate. Think disconnected from birth or adopted family who, in the absence of documents stating otherwise, would be responsible for what you leave behind.
Write a holographic will. It can be as simple as "I (name) of my own free will leave all my worldly possessions and liquid assets to (name)". With your signature and the date. A witness who is *not* the beneficiary makes it stronger and more likely to hold up if challenged later.
Ideally you will also lay out your plans for your body and any specific information you have. Such as 'my shroud is in the hall closet in the bin labeled Go Time' or 'this is my cemetery and plot number'. But right now the details are less important than the document itself existing.
