We’re excited to introduce to you President, CEO and service provider at Luxe Aura Med Spa, Dr. Laura Zelenak, D.O.!

Dr. Zelenak has dedicated her career to compassionate, evidence-based care and community service. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Oakland University with a Bachelor of Science and went on to earn her medical degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. After completing her internship and Family Medicine residency at St. John Oakland Hospital, she chose to practice in a small-town, rural setting bringing high-quality care to her community.

In 2009, she purchased Imlay City Family Practice from Dr. Brian Mullallay (at that time she changed the name to Imlay City Family Practice), and she remains committed to the well-being of local families.

Now, Dr. Zelenak is expanding her passion for wellness into the field of aesthetics through Luxe Aura Med Spa. She completed advanced aesthetics training through Empire Medical, earning certifications in:

💉 Complete Dermal Fillers
💆‍♀️ Complete Facial Aesthetics

At Luxe Aura, she offers medical-grade skincare and customized aesthetic treatments designed to help clients feel confident, refreshed, and radiant.

Dr. Zelenak will continue seeing patients at Imlay City Family Practice in addition to expanding into the aesthetics world. Dr. Zelenak is passionate about treating the whole body and medical grade skin care aligns with that!

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Zelenak is a dedicated community leader, currently serving as a member of the Imlay City School Board and as a Trustee for the Lapeer County Community Foundation.

When deciding on what kind of services and products to offer to the community, Dr. Zelenak leans into the idea of, “If I wouldn’t provide this service to a family member, then I will not provide it to the community.” & that says so much about her heart in this!

"As a breast cancer survivor I am a strong advocate for yearly mammograms. Many changes have been made over the past several years with respect to how we screen for breast cancer. The age for yearly mammograms has been moved back. Monthly self breast exams have been called into question and deemed unnecessary. I tend to disagree with this. I had my baseline mammogram at 35 years of age. I was always diligent with monthly self breast exams. Actually it was my monthly self exam that led to finding my cancer. I was 38 years old and had no family history of breast cancer. I was not at high risk for developing it. I felt a golf ball sized mass under my right arm. Knowing the seriousness of this, I saw a surgeon, testing was done, and thankfully my treatment plan was a success. Knowing what we do about cancers, the earlier it’s found, the better. Know your body & seek care if you notice any worrisome changes. Get your yearly mammograms! Use the tools we have for early detection and prevention. Take it from me, do your monthly self breast exams, and get tested."

We would like to extend our deepest gratitude and appreciation for Michelle’s 12 years of service at ICFP. She helped to shape and build ICFP to be what it is today. From the very beginning, her unwavering dedication to patient care, clinical excellence, and teamwork made her an integral part of the practice. Her compassion, professionalism, and steady presence have touched the lives of countless patients and their families. It has been a privilege for all of us at ICFP to work alongside Michelle. The standard of care she upheld, the calm reassurance given in difficult moments, and the laughter and support shared through the everyday challenges of medicine have left a lasting mark on our practice. She will be missed not just for her clinical expertise but for the heart and integrity she carried into every room.

While it’s difficult to see her go, we are truly excited for this next chapter of her life and hope it brings the peace, fulfillment, and joy she so richly deserves. We are so proud of her for trusting in God’s plan and serving Him in a new way. The field of medicine will miss her dearly!
