Therapeutic Touch utilizes Myofascial Release (MFR). This is a gentle touch approach that can display dramatic improvements in your life. The body can absorb only so much stress and strain in it's lifetime and when it has had enough, it causes tissues (fascia) to begin tightening and eventually causes increased pain, decreased posture, and less function then required for life. This then adds to the frustration of trying to get everything completed. Fascia is a tough connective tissue which spreads throughout the body in a three dimensional web from head to toe. The fascia surrounds every muscle, bone, nerve, blood vessel, and organs all the way down to the cellular level.
Because MFR is completed with a light touch, it can be used on anyone from babies to the elderly. This touch feels like a slow shifting of the tightness and increases the relaxation of the body. This is a positive posture realignment of the spine to allow increased strength as the spine is being supported better when everything goes back into a straight path without restrictions that were created through the impingement of strain and trauma.
The session works best with skin on skin contact as clinician feel the tightness or heat through the hand and can move with it as ti moves back. Clothes only are taken off on target areas and undergarments are ALWAYS left on.
This is completed in a private treatment room. Each session is performed with no lotions, oils, or machinery to allow clinician to accurately detect fascial restrictions and apply appropriate amount of sustained pressure to facilitate release of the fascia.
The treatment usually lasts around one hour and if goes over one hour will cost more. Each person displays different end results depending on original complaint.
This technique can be beneficial on:
Back pain/ Sciatic nerve pain
Scoliosis
Neck pain/Whiplash/Head Trauma
Vehicle accidents
Chronic Headaches/Migraines
Jaw Pain (TMJ)
Rotator Cuff pain
Fibromyalgia
Carpal Tunnel
Parkinson's Disease
Current or Old Strokes
Pre/Post surgeries
Hip/Knee/Shoulder Replacement
and Many others
Please, fell free to call so I can answer any questions that you may have and to set up appointment. I encourage couples to come together if able as can hear what each is told and can assist them with things that were recommended afterward.
