Nice simple out-and-back style route through town. Run your pace, bring a friend, and enjoy the quiet streets before the day gets going.

Mother Nature is finally cooperating, so letโ€™s get some miles in this week! Attached is the route for the week starting from St. Johnโ€™s Church parking lot.
The full route is about 2.7 miles, but remember you donโ€™t have to do the entire thing. Set a time or distance goal and turn around whenever you need to. All paces welcome!

As I start prepping for my upcoming 10K, one of the training programs Iโ€™ll be using is the Hal Higdon training program. Itโ€™s simple, flexible, and works great whether youโ€™re newer to structured training or building consistency again.

Weโ€™ll be using the attached route this week starting from the Independence Jr/Sr High School area. The full route is about 4 miles, but as always:
โœ… Run or walk
โœ… Go your own pace
โœ… Turn around whenever you need
โœ… All miles count!

I just officially signed up for Cedar Rapids Marathon Weekend on Sunday, June 7, 2026 โ€” and Iโ€™ll be running the 10K!

It would be awesome to get a group together and tackle the training leading up to race day. Whether this is your first race, a comeback goal, or just a fun challenge, letโ€™s train and support each other along the way.

You can choose any distance โ€” 5K, 10K, Half Marathon, or Full Marathon. No matter what you sign up for, youโ€™re guaranteed to have support (and a few laughs) every step of the way through training and on race day.
