This Summer Break, keep your child with autism thriving and engaged by using these 5 tips!

1. Establish a routine: Keeping a regular schedule can help kids better manage transitions, maintain focus, and feel secure.

2. Incorporate sensory activities: Sensory activities such as drawing or playing in the sand can be helpful in reducing anxiety, engaging your child and helping them to relax.

3. Spend time outdoors: Fresh air can be beneficial for kids. Take the time to enjoy outdoor activities such as a nature walk or bike ride together.

4. Participate in social activities: Look for opportunities to get your child involved in social activities such as camps, classes, and meet-ups.

5. Take a break: Don't forget to take a breather! It's important to give yourself and your child with autism the time to rest and recharge this summer.

Play Time is More Than Fun Time!

Play is an essential part of development for any child, but it can be especially helpful for autistic children. Playtime helps to build and strengthen social skills in autistic children, as they learn to interact and understand the world around them through play activities. It also helps to foster creativity, stimulation and independence - all important qualities that are beneficial in a child's life.

Plus, playing can help reduce stress, anxiety and other challenging behavior associated with autism spectrum disorder. So make sure you set aside time in your day to encourage play with your autistic child! It will help them grow and thrive.

Come and join us this summer for a fun and amazing experience. Our therapeutic program promotes and increases socialization opportunities through community partnerships. The program gives students an opportunity to experience summer fun while gaining and maintaining essential skills in a safe environment.

Spots for students needing 1:1 support are extremely limited. Priority is given to students who sign up for all weeks and full days.
