There’s a moment when making a mala where it stops feeling like something I’m creating, and starts feeling like something I’m in conversation with.

If you're new to Reiki, you're probably curious what a session feels like.

The honest answer is: It depends.

Some people feel warmth, tingling, or gentle energy moving through the body. Others feel deeply relaxed, like their nervous system is finally slowing down. You might notice emotions, spaciousness, or simply quiet. Sometimes the biggest shifts happen after — better sleep, clarity, or feeling more settled.

You may see Reiki online portrayed as dramatic jumps or jolts. While that can happen, it’s far more common for Reiki to feel subtle — a gentle release, a soft unwinding.

Every experience is different, and even the practitioner you work with can shape how a session feels through their presence and way of holding space.

If you’re curious, the best way to understand Reiki is to experience it for yourself.

Online classes:

Studio classes:
The short answer: No, I don’t plan to teach in a studio anytime in the foreseeable future.
The long answer: I'm saving that deep dive for a blog post, coming very soon.

Private classes:
These are always available! I offer private sessions in my small home studio and via Zoom.

Reiki is often met with skepticism from those who don’t fully understand it. These truths are offered to bring clarity, not convince. Explore with openness and curiosity. 🙏

1) Reiki is a spiritual practice, not a religion.
It doesn’t require belief, worship, or devotion to any doctrine.

2) Practitioners are channeling energy, not using their own.
Reiki flows through the practitioner, not from them, which is why sessions don’t drain personal energy.

3) Everyone has the ability to channel energy.
It isn’t a gift reserved for a few. It’s a natural capacity that can be learned, practiced, and refined.

4) You can be religious and still practice Reiki.
Reiki doesn’t conflict with personal faith or spiritual beliefs. People of all belief systems practice and receive Reiki.

5) Reiki doesn’t heal you - you heal yourself.
The practice supports your body and energy in releasing blocks so your own healing processes can work more freely.

6) Reiki is backed by science.
It’s used in hospitals around the world, including some of the leading research facilities, to support relaxation, stress reduction, and overall well-being.

7) Reiki works whether you believe in it or not.
Openness can deepen the experience, but belief isn’t required for the body to respond to the calming effects.

8) Reiki can be received in person or from a distance.
Energy isn’t confined by time or space, which allows Reiki to be shared with anyone, anywhere.

9) Reiki is gentle and non-invasive.
There’s no forcing or fixing. The energy meets you exactly where you are.

10) Reiki isn't just for humans.
It can be shared with animals, plants, food, water, and objects.

I use this meditation practice every morning to ground, clear, replenish, and protect my energy for the day. It's also a practice that I teach to my Reiki students to do before they step into a space of channeling energy.

It only takes a few minutes, but it shifts everything - anchoring you into the Earth, clearing what isn't yours, calling your energy back, and sealing your field with protection.

Move through it slowly. Breath deeply. Let your body feel the shifts.

In energy healing, we often compare the human brain to an antenna that transmits and receives frequencies. Just as you tune your radio to the station you want to hear, you tune yourself to the experiences you want to have.

This world is full of both horror and beauty - coexisting in every moment of your life.

Social media is responding to your interests. Your FYP is a reflection of what you're focusing on while on these apps. And then down the energetic rabbit hole you go!

That doesn't mean ignore the tragedies. It means stop feeding the monsters. Stop doom scrolling topics that are feeding fear and hatred.

Hand knitting came up in my feed. I was intrigued, so I watched. I looked at some of her creations. More and more hand knitting appeared. Then, I was inspired. And instead of doom scrolling, I spent my day learning to make a blanket.

My nervous system feels balanced. My mind feels clear and focused. And now I have a giant, cozy blanket instead of crippling anxiety.

Be intentional with what frequencies you're tuning into.

Hello, New Moon! 🌑

I feel like the New Moon doesn't get nearly as much attention at the Full Moon. But if it weren't for the seeds we plant on this auspicious day, what would we release?

Conscious of it or not, we all manifest, and today is our day to do it with intention.

Personally, I like to work with the moon phases on a 6-month cycle. Meaning, the seeds I plant under this Libra New Moon will continue to manifest until the next Libra Full Moon (April 2026). Then, I will reflect and release what is no longer serving me from these specific intentions.

I do this each month with the correlating zodiac sign.

I light a candle, meditate, journal, and create mantras. If you dont already have a New Moon ritual, this graphic shares a few of my favorite practices to inspire you.

✨️ Meditate: Take time to ground yourself and clear your mind - to just breathe and be.
✨️ Refresh your sacred space: Switch out the crystals, candles, or whatever sacred elements you use.
✨️ Journal your intentions: These can align with the current zodiac or be inspired by an oracle card draw.
✨️ Create mantras: Write out a few mantras or affirmations that align with your intentions that you can use daily.
✨️ Create a vision board: This doesn't have to be an actual board. You can simply tape photos or your written mantras to your mirror or desk wall. Anywhere you're sure to see it.
✨️ Nurture yourself: Take a relaxing bath, light candles, sip tea, and relax.
