The GDQC’s first clinic day at the Indy Student Outreach Clinic was a success! Clinic volunteers trained in LGBTQ+ competent care by The Kinsey Institute will be at the Indianapolis Student Outreach Clinic again June 14th and July 5th! All are welcome!

All are welcome and all care provided will be completely free. All clinic volunteers have been trained in LGBTQ+ competent care by The Kinsey Institute. We hope to see you all there🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️🩺🩹

The IUSM LGBTQ+ Healthcare Conference is coming up! Attend the conference virtually March 22 - 24, 2023. Registration is open and learners (students, residents, fellows) attend free!

Attendees will learn how to provide respectful, patient-centered, culturally competent health care by developing skills to establish rapport, recognize barriers to medical care, offer LGBTQ+ patients competent primary care and/or referrals to such care and identify the unique health risks in the LGBTQ+ population.

Calling all pre-med and pre-med curious students! This panel is an opportunity to hear from medical students at Indiana University School of Medicine-Bloomington as they discuss setting yourself up for success, navigating med school applications, and some of their research and projects aimed at helping improve LGBTQ+ healthcare.

Join us to learn to discuss the need for more LGBTQ+ Medical Providers and discuss the path to medical school for those interested in a medical career.

Today, November 20th, is Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR)

We honor the lives and memory of members of the transgender community whose lives have been lost due to anti-transgender violence.

In 2022, at least 32 transgender and gender non-conforming people have been killed in violent acts. Victims are disproportionately BIPOC transgender women, and these events are often under- or misreported. We grieve and honor the victims of the Colorado Springs LGBTQ+ nightclub shooting which occurred yesterday.

Today we recognize the persistent problem of violence committed against transgender people. We also recognize the diversity and resilience of the community in the face of harassment and violence.

Our IUSM medical students participated in the training “Gender, Sexuality, and Medicine: An introduction to LGBTQIA+ competent care” hosted by the Kinsey Institute this past weekend. Thank you to all the facilitators of the program for the educational and empowering experience!

Thank you so much to everyone who visited us at PrideFest! We hope everyone had a fun and safe time celebrating, and hopefully you stopped by and learned more about our upcoming clinic! Thanks to our volunteers who provided first aid, and to for welcoming us. See you next year, Bloomington PrideFest! 🏳️‍🌈

Bloomington Pridefest is Saturday, August 27th! 🥳 🏳️‍🌈

The 8th annual street festival will feature food trucks, a vendor village, wellness activities, live music performances, and other entertainment along East Kirkwood Ave.

We are excited to be contributing to the event this year by providing a medical tent offering basic first aid, water, and other supplies! Please stop by if you need our support, or want to learn more about our in-the-works LGBTQIA+ inclusive free health clinic!
