Michelle Maloney-Mangold, LMHCA

Michelle Maloney-Mangold, LMHCA I help my clients uncover and recognize patterns so they can resolve underlying wounds. (Just so you know, 7 is always green, and 8 is always red.)

- I particularly like working with college students, people navigating their 20s, and parents of young kids.
- I have completed a two-day certificate training called Perinatal Mood Disorders: Components of Care from Postpartum Support International.
- I am working on Level 1 of a Complex Trauma Certification Training program to further my knowledge of working with people who have experienced ongoing trauma.
- My favorite things to do include reading, watching good TV and movies, listening to music and going to concerts, talking about books and TV and movies and music with loved ones, writing, and watching Liverpool FC.
- When I was little, I wanted to be a rock star, a journalist for Rolling Stone, and a teacher. In that order.
- I have synesthesia, which is when someone’s senses overlap. For me, it means that I see colors in my mind when I see or think of numbers.

“Would I say that to someone I care about, to a friend? Would I say that to a total stranger?”

I encourage my clients to ask themselves these questions all the time when they are being particularly hard or critical of themselves. These questions can be an important first step toward the mindset shift that self-compassion can bring.
