Welcoming Lisa Teel, Senior Vice President of Operations!

Please join us in welcoming Lisa Teel to the Paradigm Health family! With more than 35 years of experience in healthcare ( 30 of those in hospice). Lisa brings a wealth of leadership, compassion, and expertise to her new role.

Throughout her career, Lisa has served in nearly every level of hospice operations, from social work and volunteer coordination to executive leadership. Her decades of service reflect an unwavering commitment to patients, families, and the advancement of hospice care.

When you think of hospice and palliative care, what comes to mind?

Is it a nurse that administers meds and takes vitals?
Is it a chaplain that offers prayer?
Is it simply biding time until a loved one passes?

Our holistic care team offers comprehensive support that centers the patient and folds in loved ones. What each professional on the team offers is likely broader than you realize.

From integrated therapies and pain relief to bereavement care for loved ones, our holistic hospice and palliative care offers dignified and compassionate support that fully surrounds you and your loved one.

There's been a lot to observe and celebrate this month! On the last day of November we want to bring awareness to National COPD Month.

Our Palliative Care Bridge Program is made for advanced illnesses like COPD. Our focused care provides symptom management and emotional support, helps patients avoid hospitalizations, and supports advanced care planning.

If you're curious about COPD stages and planning we invite you to take a look at our guide:

At Paradigm Health, we’re proud to offer paid time off for employees to volunteer and make a difference in ways that matter most to them.

Here's a flashback to last holiday season when Holly Nichols and her family rang the bell for the Salvation Army, spreading hope and joy to those in need.

We’re so grateful for Holly, her family, and our entire team who embody the spirit of giving β€” making an impact not just through their work, but in the world around them.

Grateful today, and every day.

To our teams and all frontline caregivers working this Thanksgiving, thank you for showing up with compassion and steadiness when families need you most.

To those who are able to rest, we hope your day is full of warmth, good food, and the people who matter to you.

From all of us at Paradigm Health, Happy Thanksgiving. We’re honored to serve alongside this community.

Last Wednesday, Paradigm Health’s Fort Wayne team hosted an Educational Lunch & Learn for healthcare professionals. Our panel guided a reading and discussion from πΊπ‘œπ‘›π‘’ πΉπ‘Ÿπ‘œπ‘š 𝑀𝑦 π‘†π‘–π‘”β„Žπ‘‘: Tβ„Žπ‘’ 𝐷𝑦𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝐸π‘₯π‘π‘’π‘Ÿπ‘–π‘’π‘›π‘π‘’ by Barbara Karnes, RN.

They shared real experiences that connected to the reading, then we moved into interactive table breakouts where each group discussed the same topics and brought forward thoughtful questions.

Conversations like these help us better prepare families for what to expect and how to find peace in the process. Thank you to everyone who joined us and continues to support patients and families with comfort, clarity, and peace.

November is Alzheimer's Awareness Month, but this is a disease that's on our minds through the year.

From special staff training to the Alzheimer's Association walks and more, we know this is a disease that carries a huge impact on our patients and their loved ones alike.

Each year progress is made and we will keep supporting all the efforts that go into understanding and curing this disease.

Welcome to this month's Encouragement Exchange, written directly to the heart of healthcare workers. πŸ’šπŸ’™

In patient care we walk through many seasons: moments of laughter and loss, new beginnings and quiet goodbyes. Autumn reminds us that change isn’t always a wrecking ball, but a gentle acknowledgment that one chapter has ended and another is set to begin. Your presence in these moments anchors the people you serve.

Each time you sit beside a patient, you enter their season of life. Some are still in spring, blooming with stories and adventures yet to come. Others are in late fall, reflecting on life, loved ones and legacy. And you, precious caregiver, are the steady presence through all of these moments.

The Dutch pastor Henri Nouwen wrote,
β€œWhen we honestly ask ourselves which person in our lives means the most to us, we often find that it is those who, instead of giving advice, solutions, or cures, have chosen rather to share our pain and touch our wounds with a warm and tender hand.”

The seasons come and go, and the pace picks up. Yes, the days can grow long, but through change, your compassionate care remains. That matters. Everything you bring to your patients – the warmth of your hands, the steadiness of your voice, and your attentive ear – is the quiet mercy that turns hard days into peace.

May blessings meet you at every turn,
Chaplain Tobby E. Smith
