I wanted to share a quick story.
I have been away for a week with my with in Arizona and I had something I wanted to share. When I am out of town, I try to wear our BAR shirts to see if it will spark up conversation. The picture here is the shirt I had on. While we were sitting and enjoying the amazing sunset, a lady came up to me and said “thank you for what you are doing” It kinda took me off guard, but she said “ I noticed your shirt”. Ah..we had such a great conversation around the importance of just talking, acknowledging someone that supports mental health and that there is good in this world. She was from my home state of Wisconsin and a counselor in the mental health field. We chatted a while longer about how we are expanding our footprint and support in the La Crosse area.
I share this because, it reminds me there is HOPE! Remember, talking to people is important. It might only be to say hello…or I like your shoes… or I noticed your shirt. You never how it might encourage someone!
We have a lot of events coming up, so stay tuned to BAR ! Lots of great things happening !
