Touchdown For Kids

Touchdown For Kids Touchdown for Kids is a golf outing put on by the St. Vincent Young Professionals Board supporting Peyton Manning Children's Hospital at St.

Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. Touchdown for Kids (TFK) was originally a giving circle for the St. Vincent Foundation and supporting the Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital (PMCH). TFK was founded in 2008 to provide young Indianapolis professionals an outlet to network with other like-minded individuals. We have transitioned into the newly created St. Vincent Young Professionals Board where we will continue this mission as well as support for St. Vincent Hospital as a whole. We will continue to host our annual golf outing using the TFK branding and plan to expand our efforts to support St. Vincent with a new signature event coming in 2020. The annual Touchdown for Kids golf outing has supported vital causes at St.Vincent such as MRI goggles to distract kids while undergoing MRIs, important new technology to aid in the early detection of hearing loss in children, and pediatric palliative care, among others. Touchdown for Kids has also had an annual focus on raising funds and items for the Pediatric Art Therapy Program and the Child Life Program at the hospital. Through the Touchdown for Kids Golf Outing, the annual Christmas and Fall parties, and the various social events throughout the year, Touchdown for Kids has made a lasting impact on the health and well-being of the kids at Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital—an impact which we hope to continue!

St. Matthew Catholic School students and families recently came together to support their neighbors through a special donation drive benefiting the Arthur and Ruth Browne St. Vincent House. The school community collected much-needed items to help individuals and families served at our dedicated hospitality house. Their generosity is a beautiful reminder of what happens when young people are inspired to serve others.

We are grateful to the students, families, and staff at St. Matthew Catholic School for living out the spirit of compassion and making a meaningful difference for those staying at the Arthur and Ruth Browne St. Vincent House.

Why blood is so vital for trauma patients?🩸

In severe trauma, uncontrolled bleeding is one of the leading causes of preventable death. Research continues to show that early whole blood transfusion saves lives, and that every minute matters. Studies demonstrate that patients who receive whole blood within the first 30 minutes have better survival compared to those who receive blood later. Delays beyond that window are associated with increased odds of death at 24 hours and during hospitalization. This means trauma care isn’t just about how fast we get a patient to a trauma center. It’s also about how quickly we can get blood to the patient, whether that’s in the prehospital setting or during air medical transport.

Early access to whole blood supports oxygen delivery, improves coagulation, and helps prevent the rapid spiral into shock. That’s why expanding prehospital and air-medical transfusion capabilities on aircraft and ground units is so important. When bleeding is the problem, blood is the solution, and earlier is better.

🩸🚁 Lives depend on it.
