Hi Friends. WE NEED YOUR HELP!!
Ascension St. Vincent has requested Vallie's JOY to help with 2 IMPORTANT PROJECTS and we are so honored to do so.
1st we are requesting for MASKS TO BE MADE! Vallie's JOY has been able to purchase 150 REUSABLE sewn masks and we are donating 50 masks from Vallie's personal medical supplies. That is 200 masks total. BUT WE NEED MORE. We are looking for anyone who can sew and would be willing to donate to this cause so near and dear to us.
TO DO THIS: please message me so that I can include details!
2nd We are looking for ANYONE WHO CAN WRITE! Kids can get in on this too! Ascension St Vincent is truly a group of HEROES. We are organizing and asking for notes of encouragement to be sent. Specifically for the Housekeeping Staff, who all too often are overlooked. Some of our deepest conversations and sweetest friends are part of Peyton Manning's housekeeping staff.
TO DO THIS you can send your notes of encouragement to:

This is what 108.5 days of Vallie’s food looks like. To some that may not mean anything, but for us being a self employed family with no prescription coverage, this is $2090.43. This was GIVEN to us today by a friend in our community who has a similar story of a child fighting for their life. When Aimee pulled the first HUGE box out I felt my stomach sink. I couldn’t even explain to her how thankful I was. THEN she pulled out another. Last month we were GIVEN nearly 6 months of feeding bags by members of our tubie community. That was approximately $2070.00 worth, that we would have had to pay for out of pocket. Yesterday PULM added vest therapy to Vallie’s daily treatments. This vest ALONE costs, you will absolutely NEVER guess, approximately $18,000.00!! To be paid out of pocket. We didn’t even know how or what to think about that but knew she needed it. This was part of my anxiety and ice cream ridden night. Today we received a call from the vest company saying that our doctor called them this morning to explain Vallie’s situation, the regional manager wanted to tell us that their CEO believes this will change Vallie’s life and help her more than we could imagine. They will be overnighting a vest to us for $1 a month until her disability gets approved. You really read that right, $1 a month!!!

You see when you all shared and prayed and stood in the gap and prayed some more for our girl you never knew so many lives were being touched in every single way. We are humbled and so very very grateful for your prayers & for our community! ❤️🌿

We cannot choose all that life hands us, BUT JOY we can choose every time.

Consider coming along side us as Vallie's Joy launches our first campaign.

All proceeds go to spreading the movement to other PICU families as they may face the most unimaginable of circumstances.

But Joy. We cannot choose all that life hands us, but JOY we can choose every time. . Many of you continue to follow us alongside Vallie’s journey. For us this whole ...

In Vallie’s triple scope we were mainly just checking on lungs and GI from a PULM & GI perspective. ENT was also going in to specifically look for pharyngomalacia, laryngomalacia, cleft, or potential cysts on the Vocal chords. We expected to only find one of these things and we hoped that we could fix! Today we found that Vallie has actually 3 of the things they were looking for. She has pharyngomalacia & laryngomalacia. This is essentially the collapse of the upper airways. The pharyngomalacia cannot be surgically fixed but it is “floppy” enough that she will be going on oxygen flow to keep the airway popped open. The laryngomalacia can be fixed with surgery however it was also found that she does have a laryngotracheal cleft. The surgery to fix both of these things is a little more risky and invasive so we decided to do a temporary injection today to basically “bulk up” the airways and we will go in sometime in 6+ weeks as that injection dissolves to do surgery. GI found some small bleeding in the intestines. Biopsies were taken, but for now we are assuming her acid reflux medications may just need to be increased.

All and all we are thankful for today’s outcome. We prayed they would find SOMETHING to fix and we are thankful they have.

We are spending the night in ICU with our PICU aunties. Vallie is getting some love and her airways are being monitored closely as she recovers from surgery.

Thank you for praying. Thank you for supporting us. And as always, thank you for loving our girl! ❤️🌿
