I don't know about you, but the past year and a half of the pandemic has pushed my mental health to the edge at times (ok, many times). There's been a loss of control over life and the future. I miss PEOPLE and interacting without hesitation or an inner sense of separation from the people around me. I miss that sense of freedom I never realized was such a gift.

What I DO know is that the way I've gotten out of any depression, loneliness, or mental struggles - is by choosing to actively do something kind for someone each day. Some days (the really frustrating ones) this feels almost impossible. (It's hard to do something kind when you don't even really want to get out of bed.)

But I know, when I do something kind - even if it's the tiniest act, I IMMEDIATELY feel better. And when I do something kind several days in a row, my LIFE starts to feel better.
That sense of control comes creeping back in.

I realize that no matter what awful things may be around me, I always have the power to be who I want to be, and how I want to show up in the world, and for the world - and others - in the way I choose.

The studies and statistics prove this is a real thing - that giving or showing kindness greatly affects our moods, our mental health, and our physical health. The thing is - they are just statistics and studies until WE decide to give it a try and see for ourselves: Kindness really does make our lives better.

And that's why Cards4Humanity was created. It's a simple tool that gives you 21 cards that you give away to others, as small acts of kindness. The phrases are meant to spark a little inspiration, and you can even leave your own message with every card using the online message board.

One card may not change your entire life, but 21 cards given 21 days in a row will start to change something :)

With all the craziness going on now, have you ever secretly wondered, "Seriously... what's the point of all this?" Well, my friend, the point to all of this is simple. It's LOVE.

Everything we do, everything we're here for, everything we want, and even the root of what makes us most afraid (the lack of love) it's always LOVE.

If we knew LOVE was the point of everything, what would our lives look like if we focused on that each and every day?

💚 What if when you were feeling insecure or scared, or like you aren't good enough or can't handle something - you focused on what you love about yourself?

💚 What if you're feeling lost or disconnected and lonely, you got up, went out and did something kind and loving for another?

💚 What if in any situation, you asked yourself: Where is love present and how can I bring it to light?

To some it may sound trivial and a bit too hippy-dippy, Kumbaya-ish... but we encourage you to try this:

Mo' Money, Mo' Problems... Mo' Kindness, Mo' Happiness? Studies have shown that it's not the accumulation of wealth or material items that makes us happy (although that's what we're all taught to believe because, you know... advertising, consumerism - they need SOMEONE to buy all those things, right?)

Human kindness and connection is actually what we're longing for - not objects. In fact, studies show that we are happier when we GIVE things away. That's because giving of ourselves to others connects us to them, and that makes us feel like a million bucks.

So for this holiday season, think of what you can GIVE to others. This is, in fact, what the season - and our lives - is really about. And if you want to go that extra step, consider giving Cards4Humanity to someone. You'll be giving them the gift of GIVING, and experiencing all the joy and happiness that brings!

Leaving a at may not change someone's life... but then again, who's to say...?

We never know how our actions affect others. All we know is that our actions DO affect others. When we do something kind, even if it's as small as leaving a simple encouraging message for a total stranger, has the power to turn around their day - maybe even their life.
