CPAP USERS CAN USE THEIR CLEANER FOR MASK SANITIZATION
Common cleaners also sanitize
Inverness, FL— April 7, 2020 — Jamie Roberts Leader, RPSGT, RST, CCSH, Clinical Sleep Educator, of MaskMate, LLC, announced that CPAP cleaners that can function in a closed environment can be used for sanitizing any kind of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). This includes both cloth and disposable masks, as well as gloves and goggles. Healthcare workers and the general public, are reusing PPEs that we previously intended for single use due to shortages.
“I have long felt that using the term ‘cleaner’ was a little deceptive,” said Ms. Leader. “These products do not clean off dirt or debris, they actually sanitize the items. Ozone is used to inactivate up to over 99% viruses, bacteria, and more.”
Ozone
According to the Journal of Natural Science, Biology and Medicine 2011-Jan-Jun;2(1): 66-70, Ozone therapy: A clinical Review, by A.M. Elvis and J.S. Ekta, medical O3, used to disinfect and treat disease, has been around for over 150 years. Nicola Tesla patented the first O3 generator in the US and formed the “Tesla Ozone Company” in the early 1900’s.
“I feel that any extra layers of protection we can utilize are helpful in these times,” said Ms. Leader, “If you have one, why not use it for this purpose.” As a caution it should be noted that ozone could have negative effects on lung alveoli if inhaled directly. Only a CPAP cleaner that can work in a closed environment should be used for this purpose.
