ICYMI: A first-of-its-kind, lifesaving program just launched in central Iowa.

Des Moines Fire Department and West Des Moines Emergency Medical Services can now administer blood products before trauma victims arrive at the hospital, an advancement medical experts say could be one of the most significant advances in emergency care in decades.

SIM-IA is proud to support this pilot by training EMS teams using our mobile simulation technology.

A monumental step forward for emergency care in Iowa, and SIM-IA is proud to be part of it.

Iowa’s first pre-hospital blood transfusion pilot program brings life-saving blood products directly to the scene of trauma. This allows EMS crews to begin transfusions immediately, long before a patient arrives at the hospital.

SIM-IA is honored to support the training of EMS teams on safe, effective blood product administration in the field. 🩸🚑💛
