Holden is advancing cancer care with the help of AI.

Our team recently received a grant to bring AI-driven tools into prostate cancer care. These tools will help identify patients who should receive genetic testing and strengthen early intervention efforts.

It’s one more step toward earlier answers and more personalized care for people across Iowa.

Clinicians at the University of Iowa were recently awarded a competitive grant for a multi-faceted quality improvement project using artificial intelligence (AI) to improve advanced prostate cancer care.

Members of University of Iowa's Zeta Tau Alpha created and delivered comfort kits for breast cancer patients at Holden. 🩷

Each kit includes thoughtful items—like a warm hat and handwritten notes—to provide comfort and encouragement during treatment.

We are grateful for the chapter's continued dedication to supporting breast cancer awareness and education.

A family’s cancer journey becomes a movement. 🩷

Cathy, a former Black Hawk County Cancer Steering Committee member, and her daughters created Splash of Color—a support group for women of color facing breast cancer.

Read their inspiring story in The Gazette:

Splash of Color Breast Cancer Support Group, founded by a mother and her two daughters who are all breast cancer survivors, offers a "splash" of hope for women of color who are or have been afflicted with breast cancer.

When the Hawkeye community comes together, great things happen.

Today, we were delighted to welcome Iowa student-athletes Will Ryan (Track & Field) and Emilie Mosner (Swimming & Diving) to our infusion center. Their visit brought laughter, conversation, and a welcome boost of team spirit to patients and staff alike.

Amazing 🤩

Last night, the Courage Ride committee proudly presented a $120,000 check to the Sarcoma Research Program at the University of Iowa Health Care Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center. The money raised from this year's ride is the highest total to date. 🙌🏻

What began 21 years ago as the Bailey family’s way to honor Seth has now reached an incredible milestone: ⭐️more than $1 million raised⭐️ for sarcoma research.

Thanks to the riders, donors, sponsors, and volunteers who’ve kept the mission moving forward year after year, bringing hope to those affected by sarcoma and support to the incredible team of sarcoma specialists at University of Iowa Health Care. 🎗️
