Struggling with a loved one who refuses to get dressed, eat, or participate in activities? Sometimes, the resistance isn't stubbornness, it’s overwhelm.

Asking open-ended questions like "What do you want for breakfast?" or "What do you want to wear?" can cause anxiety, especially for seniors with cognitive changes or dementia.

Try the "Two-Choice" Rule instead:
- Instead of "What do you want to eat?" Try "Would you like eggs or oatmeal?"
- Instead of "Go get dressed." Try "Do you want to wear the blue sweater or the grey one?"

Small tweaks in how we ask questions can make a massive difference in the mood of the day! 💙

Yesterday we partnered with Silverado Hospice to deliver Tamales & Merry Christmas wishes to hoag case workers. Hopefully, we were able to brighten someone’s Sunday.
