Recovering from a stroke at home can feel overwhelming for both survivors and family caregivers.

Here are a few tips / things to be mindful of during this difficult time:

- Safety first: remove clutter, secure rugs, add grab bars, improve lighting
- Follow medical guidance: stay consistent with medications, therapy exercises, and follow-up appointments
- Support mobility + independence: encourage slow, steady movement and celebrate small wins
- Protect brain + body health: prioritize hydration, balanced meals, sleep, and gentle activity (when approved)
- Watch for changes: sudden weakness, speech changes, severe headache, or confusion = call 911
- Emotional recovery matters too: frustration, anxiety, or depression are common—validation helps
- Caregivers need care: take breaks, ask for help, and don’t navigate alone

Every recovery journey looks different, it is important to follow care advice provided by the doctor.

Breaking down the differences between Level 1 vs. Level 2 Care :

Level 1 focuses on Daily Living & Support. This includes essential help with bathing, grooming, meal prep, running errands, and providing companionship and socialization.

Level 2 steps up to Specialized Care. This level is designed for specific medical or cognitive needs, such as Alzheimer’s and Dementia care, Diabetes management, Parkinson’s support, and following physical therapy programs.
