Tybee Fire takes the WIN 2 games to 1!

Huge thank you to the Tybee Island Fire Rescue to continue to come out each year to connect with these young Junior Guards! On the Tybee Fire side, big contributions from Firemen Chris, Corey, Ashton and Mathew along with Ocean Rescue’s Cyrus and Braylen (also Junior Guard Instructors). On the Junior Guards USA side, Junior Guard Instructors Kai and Cam brought the heat as well as Junior Guards Cadre Lincoln, Reef, Nate, Savannah, Kam, Leonard, Croix. Co-Game MVP Chris Epley and Braylen Butterworth. Mr. Hustle Cyrus Shepherd, Beast of the Game Cory Houston, Play of the Game father/son Brad and Kai Butterworth hook up for a 50 yrd bomb and score.

Night Ops Ahead

As the days get shorter, we’re gearing up for night operations and advanced training! Over the next several weeks, we’ll taper water time and shift toward medical, search-and-rescue, and night-time evolutions.

Every Guard must always have: Water, towel, and running shoes - nothing changes here.

Boat crews are being issued: Red light headlamps, red pin lights, maps, tourniquets, and med kits (to be turned in Dec 13).

Personal gear like goggles, fins, and wetsuits will continue to be key — keep them in great shape!

We’re proud of how far everyone’s come — now it’s time to dig in, build confidence, and live out Commitment, Fortitude, and Resilience.

IMPORTANT NOTICE READ ENTIRELY - “These are the days we look for and they won’t be wasted.” Not only are we leaning into today, we are excited and grateful for this weather. This is what Junior Guards is all about. Knowing it’s gonna be tough and we do it anyway. “Yeah, but I’m nervous.” Then do it with nerves. “Yeah, but I’m scared.” Then do it scared. “Yeah, but I’m not ready.” Yes you are because there’s no perfect “ready”.

People, today is going to be cold, wet and tough. And on the other side will be sand, scrapes and smiles. Someone today will develop more confidence and walk out 3 inches taller than the way they walked in.

You MUST have a towel, you MUST have running shoes, you MUST have water. This isn’t a request…this is for safety.

Let’s hit it today, people!
