πŸŽƒMore sensory fun!πŸŽƒ

Here are some more sensory exploration ideas that are Halloween themed! Sensory exploration uses your five senses (sight, smell, sound, taste and touch) to learn your environment around you! Each of these has different textures, scents, sounds, and even taste! These activities also incorporate the use of fine motor and visual motor skills!

1. Shaving cream: Use your hands to explore any hidden objects that can be hiding throughout. You can also use a spray bottle to wash the shaving cream off the items for extra strengthening and endurance
2. Jell-o: Use a spoon or your hands to explore various objects in the Jell-o. You can also work on strengthening by using your fingers to push the objects in. If possible, you can even eat the Jell-o to involve your taste sense and self-feeding skills!
3. Sensory box: Fill a box with various textures with hard, soft, fuzzy, squishy items. You can hide different items in the box just like the paper next to it so you can find them hidden in the box and match them up!
-to make it harder you can use tongs/tweezers and spoons to pick up objects as well in each box! Have fun!πŸ’€πŸ‘»πŸŽƒ

πŸ”¨πŸŽ¨ OT Fun in the Clinic! πŸŽ¨πŸ”¨

This week, we’re working on pincer grasp and bilateral coordination in a super creative way! πŸ™Œ

Kids use wooden shapes and tiny nails to hammer their own pictures into a cork boardβ€”either by copying a design (boosting those visual-spatial skills πŸ‘€) or making their own masterpiece! 🌟

This hands-on activity is not only fun, but also helps strengthen fine motor skills in a structured, supportive clinic setting. πŸ’ͺπŸ’›

We love turning therapeutic goals into play-based fun! 🧩

🌟 Clinic-Based Therapy in Action! 🌟
Did you know we offer clinic-based treatment that engages kids in fun, purposeful movement?
Our sessions utilize a variety of suspended equipment, like this flexion swing, to:
βœ… Strengthen the core
βœ… Promote bilateral coordination
βœ… Enhance sensory processing
βœ… Improve eye-hand coordination
βœ… Support motor planning
In this simple yet powerful activity, children toss a bean bag into a barrel while swinging β€” turning play into progress.
At our clinic, movement IS therapy β€” and every swing, throw, and smile brings growth!

Hands up if you love OT!!!!πŸ™‹β€β™€οΈπŸ™‹πŸ™‹β€β™‚οΈ

In this picture, we are working on postural stability, strengthening and endurance! By putting our hands in different areas around your body it challenges us to maintain balance on the horse. We can increase the challenge by walking around the therapy area while our hands are not stabilized on the horse!

✨ Fun with Purpose! ✨

We love using colorful clothespins to help our kiddos develop their pincer grasp while exploring all kinds of movement! 🌈 These playful pins encourage midline crossing, bilateral coordination, visual scanning, balance, and core controlβ€”all while moving through a natural, dynamic environment. πŸŒ€

And the best part? Our little ones get creative by placing the clothespins on their fingers, adding an extra dose of proprioceptive and tactile input for even more sensory fun! πŸ€Έβ€β™€οΈπŸ’–
