I understand them, because I was once just like them. And it almost cost me my health.
When I could no longer juggle so many tasks, in so little time, with too much stress, and way too many all-nighters, I hit a wall.
I was depressed. Despondent. Burned out.
Despite my laundry list of accomplishments, I wasn't satisfied.
I thought of giving up my career and my dreams.
THEN, something magical happened.
I was referred to a master teacher of Eastern Medicine and Healing. I learned self-healing techniques like reiki. I practiced meditation. I received acupuncture. I taught myself acupressure to lower tension and blood pressure. I took time to RELAX AND BREATHE.
I cured my burn-out. I was no longer depressed. I haven't used any prescribed pharmaceuticals since that time, which was about 20 years ago!. I used practical, Eastern healing tips and techniques, so that rather than seeing "woo-woo" my clients experienced results. Such us: higher rates of productivity, less anxiety, reduced conflict, lower health care costs, less attrition.
I also started getting others out of their offices and into the outdoors (be they neighbors, doctors, engineers, students, designers, dog lovers, cartoonists, business people, leaders, or kids), we ALL gather for monthly and annual trips to beautiful state and national parks and beautiful retreat locations around the United States.
After my first year, my hiking club members grew from 50 to 500!
That's when I vowed to devote my life to helping others heal from stress, unrealistic expectations, never-ending demands, toxic situations, and the type of sedentary lives that spell B-U-R-N -O-U-T.
That's why I created the "Daily Step Method."
