It's funny... I was going to write this post on how massage removes toxins from the body and that drinking water helps the kidneys filter all that out faster. It's what I've come to learn, and in my research to come up with the exact "toxins" and chemicals that are being cleaned out of the body in this process, I've come to learn that there is not much evidence out there to say if it does or doesn't remove toxins from the body at all
I really think more research should be done on this, because from personal experience, drinking alcohol after getting a massage makes for a nasty hangover the next day (I'm not a big drinker, and the alcohol I did have had never made me previously sick) so physiologically something is happening in your body to cause it to have a strong reaction when alcohol is added after receiving a massage.
With that knowledge that I have learned (the hard way), I'm convinced that "fluid moving massage" (Swedish, Deep Tissue, Lymphatic Drainage, Cranio-Sacral) does in fact cause a response in the body to move """toxins""" through you faster then your body does naturally
So in conclusion to a drawn-out post, in my opinion it's still super important to drink water after a massage, if not to get rid of toxins faster (which I still believe It helps with).. then to reduce any possible soreness you may feel the next day, and to also stay hydrated... because being hydrated is so important to a healthy functioning body!
