Today Tami had the honor of spending time alongside the incredible team of volunteers and professionals with the Alzheimer's Association in Lansing, MI, representing the residents and families of Otterbein Jackson.
We all came together to raise our voices for those living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, and for the families who walk this journey every single day. It’s about awareness, yes—but it’s also about action.
1. Increased funding means more research, better care, stronger support systems, and ultimately, hope.
2. Education for first responders to help identify person's with dementia and provide de-escalation tactics.
3. Silver Alert, similar to Amber Alerts allowing law enforcement to broadcast information to bring them home.
Being part of these conversations at the state level is important. Every story shared, every hand shaken, every conversation had—it all matters. Because behind every statistic is a person, a family, a life that deserves dignity, compassion, and support.
There is still so much work to do, but days like this remind me that we are moving forward—together.
💜 If Alzheimer’s or dementia has touched your life, know you are not alone.
