Salud y Vida Nicaragua Community Health Workshops Salud y Vida Community Health Workshops is a nonprofit designed to promote healthy communities in Nicaragua through interactive education.

Salud y Vida teaches a series of health workshops covering Basic First Aid, Illness Prevention and Treatment, Dental Health, Blood Pressure Screening and Women’s Health are presented by Registered Nurse, Corrin Berg and her team, to communities surrounding Los Cardones Eco Lodge in western Nicaragua. Medical donation kits are distributed to the participants for them to apply their leaned health skills into their daily lives. Biannually, over a period of two month, the program reaches the lives of over 100 families. Salud y Vida provides communities with the opportunity to learn and practice healthy living skills and changes lives.

Our boots on the ground team taught a series of health classes for 195 participants this past weekend. Huge shout out for all their efforts to make it happen! Each participants received a refill kit on soap and cleaning supplies, masks, a thermometer and a nutrition kit full of immunity boosting foods. Even better, they taught on how to stay healthy during our current health status.

This Ecolodge has all the outdoor amenities to allow you to vacation with less Covid worries. Highly recommended!!

Hands are the principal carriers of disease-causing germs. The average time people wash their hands is 6 seconds. Salud y Vida’s very first class in 2013 was on Washing Hands, and we have been teaching it in every class since.

Our local brains putting the final touches on class details. The speed bump was that all three bridges were washed out and we had to figure out how to get to Zapote.
