Common myths we hear often on what non-medical in-home care entails:

• It’s only for people who are very sick: In reality, non-medical in-home care is often for seniors who just need a little extra help with daily activities, companionship, or safety—long before medical care is required.

• It’s the same as home health care: Non-medical care focuses on day-to-day support like bathing, meal prep, light housekeeping, and companionship, while home health care involves skilled medical services provided by licensed clinicians.

• Family should be able to do everything: Many families try, but caregiving can quickly become overwhelming. Professional caregivers help relieve stress, prevent burnout, and allow families to spend quality time together instead of feeling exhausted.

• Accepting help means losing independence: The opposite is true—non-medical care helps seniors maintain independence by supporting them in their own home, on their own routines, and according to their preferences.

• Caregivers are “just there to chat”: While companionship is important, caregivers also assist with personal care, mobility, errands, meal preparation, and daily routines that help clients stay safe and comfortable.

Our very own Melissa had the best time co-sponsoring a local Farmers Market for the residents at Grand Villa of DeLand! It was a beautiful day spent bringing the community together with fresh bread, seasonal fruits, and some very adorable four-legged friends.

A huge thank you to our wonderful co-hosts, Encompass Health and VITAS Healthcare, for helping make this happen. There’s nothing quite like seeing the joy on the residents' faces while they spent time with the animals and enjoyed some fresh local treats.

We had an incredible turnout at Off the Record to kick off our summer donation drive! We’ve teamed up with The Healthcare Professionals of North Florida to support Partnership for Strong Families, and the energy in the room was truly inspiring.

After decades of working with seniors to improve their quality of life through home healthcare, we decided to open Concierge Care. We believe that with the support of a highly trained Senior Care Advisor and qualified and compassionate caregivers, seniors can maintain the highest quality of life in their own homes. We specifically chose the Nurse Registry model as it allows us to offer the highest quality service to our clients at the lowest possible cost. Additionally, the best caregivers appreciate and work with the companies that allow them to be compensated the most for their dedication and hard work. We are proud to have earned the “Best of Home Care” provider of choice award by Homecare Pulse (a 3rd party quality assurance company) but even more proud of the positive feedback we receive on a daily basis of how we have improved the lives of our clients and families.
