The SPERO Awards are a program started by MORA over a decade ago to recognize hospital partners, medical professionals, and community partners who help make the Donate Life mission possible.

We are celebrating the season! Sister Dorothea and friends recently enjoyed the Friday night performance of Ballet Magnificat!’s LIGHT HAS COME. From the joyful opening medley of holiday favorites to the powerful retelling of The Angels’ Story, the evening reminded us of the true meaning of Christmas—hope, love, and the coming of Emmanuel.

St. Dominic is a proud supporter of this program, the gospel ministry of Ballet Magnificat!, and the arts of our community. Thank you, !

Our therapy dogs are busy making spirits bright this Christmas season!

Charlie, Willow and Jackson stopped by to spread some holiday cheer and visit with our rehab team this week while making their rounds throughout the hospital.

When you see these merry four-legged elves in the hallways, take a moment to share some cuddles and let their festive spirit warm your day! We love our therapy dogs and their handlers for the comfort and joy they bring!

St. Dominic's is thrilled to announce that our next NeuroCardio Education Event is scheduled for January 16-17, 2026, at The Ritz-Carlton in New Orleans, LA. This two-day event covers the latest topics in neurology and cardiology. It also features an expo area highlighting healthcare innovations in medication and treatment.

This clinical education experience is ideal for physicians, APPs, nurses and patient care professionals in a variety of practice areas.

This CME event is hosted in partnership with the Mississippi State Medical Association.

Congratulations to Gina McGee, Environmental Services, who was named St. Dominic’s most recent BEE Award recipient!

Just as the DAISY cannot survive without the BEE, our nurses cannot thrive without the outstanding teamwork provided by their colleagues. The BEE Award, Being Extraordinary Every day, honors team members outside of our nursing team who help to create an exceptional patient experience.

Gina was nominated for the award by a colleague who praised her unwavering dedication and hard work in creating a clean, calming environment that supports patients’ healing.

“Gina makes sure she speaks to every team member she encounters when working on our unit,” the nomination said. “Everyone can tell when she has not been at work because she always goes above and beyond to make sure our unit is clean.”

🎄It’s the most wonderful time of the year! This week, our FMOL Health | St. Dominic team members gathered for our annual Christmas meal filled with holiday cheer.

From enjoying a delicious hot meal, to humming along with the festive sounds of the Christmas Kazoo Chorale, to spinning the prize wheel for a little extra fun, our team celebrated the season in style.

For more than 40 years, the St. Dominic Hospital Auxiliary has brought holiday cheer through Lights of Love, a fundraising tradition. Lights of Love culminates in a special celebration honoring loved ones with reflection, music and tradition.

This year, funds raised will support specialized equipment designed to help stroke patients and patients in medical-surgical areas regain mobility faster and return home stronger.
