If you're struggling with anxiety or depression during pregnancy, it's important to seek out support from friends or family members who can help you, but also from a professional who will be able to offer further insight. Make sure you have the right information about what's going on in your body, and make sure your partner is aware of how they can best support you.

Many new parents often wonder "Is this baby blues or postpartum depression?"

The big differences between baby blues and postpartum depression is that the baby blues will usually dissipate by 2 weeks post-delivery without treatment, and are experienced by up to 80% of new parents.

Postpartum depression, on the other hand, has more severe symptoms, lasts longer than two weeks (even years without treatment) and affects approximately 15% of new parents. PPD, along with the other perinatal mental health disorders, is temporary and treatable, and with help, you can be well.

If you think you are experiencing a perinatal mental health disorder or just don't feel like yourself and need support:
🔷 Call or text the Postpartum Support International HelpLine at 800-944-4773. You never need a diagnosis to ask for help.
🔷 Call or text the National Maternal Mental Health Hotline at 1-833-943-5746
🔷 In a crisis situation, call or text the National Su***de & Crisis Lifeline at 988.
🔷 Visit postpartum.net for additional programs and resources.

We are so excited to announce our NEW Postpartum Planning Class, meeting on the 1st & 3rd Wednesday of each month! 🎉

Is your family growing, and you're interested in learning how to prepare for the postpartum period? Join us for a 2-hour Postpartum Planning class for 2nd & 3rd trimester expecting parents. We welcome moms, birthing people, non-gestational parents, partners, couples, and single parents. Unlike most birth and postpartum classes, the intended focus is on the parents' emotional well-being during the postpartum period. The class will include education, discussion, a review of a postpartum plan, and resources. The main topics covered will be postpartum physical recovery, partner support, self-care, support networks, lactation and emotional well-being, and perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.

This class is a one-time free resource, so please only register once. We anticipate many families signing up to join the class, so we appreciate you canceling your registration at least 24 hours in advance if you cannot attend. This allows waitlist attendees a seat in the class. We thank you and hope you leave the class feeling more confident and knowledgeable about the postpartum period. You are not alone, and we are here to help.

Peaceful Evening,

Shedding light on the nurturing spirit.

We feel.
We love.
We hope.
We forgive.
We get sick.
We experience highs and lows.
We endure great losses, pain & blockages.

& yet we still provide. It is our nature to fulfill our purpose. Now may be the time to call this specific act of service back to yourself: Nurturing Spirit

Love on you.
Heal within you.
Affirm your boundaries.
Rest & restore your body.

Receivers of nurturing spirits, check in without the need for something tangible in return.

We are tired. If we don’t respond right away. Give us nurturing grace.

Be well.

Peaceful Regards,
PS
