The MVMA Academy

The MVMA Academy The Academy is the honor society for Missouri's veterinarians. It also oversees continuing education (CE) available to veterinarians licensed in Missouri.

The Academy encourages Missouri’s veterinarians to stay up-to-date with science, technology and medical practices for the betterment of the profession. The Academy is the continuing education arm of the Missouri Veterinary Medical Association. Its members are those MVMA members who have met the Academy’s membership requirements and have applied for Academy membership. A separate Board comprised of MVMA members elected by the Academy membership governs the Academy.

The MVMA Academy Distinguished Service Award was presented to Robert Hertzog, DVM, Independence, MO, and was presented posthumously to Dr. Hertzog’s son, Dr. David Hertzog who accepted it on his behalf.

Dr. Hertzog was a lifetime retired member of the Missouri Veterinary Medical Association (MVMA). He graduated from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in 1969. He was a founding member of the MVMA Academy which recently celebrated its 50th anniversary.

MVMA Academy Distinguished Service Award recipients are individuals who have rendered meritorious service to promoting and advancing continuing education in the veterinary profession.

Thank you Dr. Hertzog and family for your service and dedication to the veterinary medicine profession and development.
