Many people may not know October is National Chaplain Appreciation Month. These quiet leaders give emotional guidance to our patients and their families as a spiritual counselor.
Chaplains recognize the physical, mental, and spiritual challenges our patients and staff face every day. They get to know their patients and are comfortable behind the scenes. They do much more than counsel. They are a listening ear, a friend and a kind word when needed most. We couldn't let October come to a close without saying thank you. This theme celebrates "the desire for experiences and adventure at every stage of life, highlighting how assisted living supports person-centered care and allows residents to pursue new experiences".
