Thank you to Dr. Michael Williams, emergency care physician at Willis Knighton Health in Bossier City, LA, for providing the best rotation for SD Liz Duplechain!

SD Duplechain said, “He was a great preceptor with a show one, do one style. He is the Director of the ED and introduced me to other doctors, nurses, and staff who were equally as amazing! I’m going to carry the skills I learned there with me forever!”

Congrats to our associate dean, Dr. Amanda Deel, who was recently re-appointed to the Cervical Cancer Task Force by the Arkansas Department of Health. Dr. Deel serves our COM and our state so well in a number of ways, and we are continually grateful for her leadership!👏

🛏️ ACOEP built beds for Sleep In Heavenly Peace
🩷 SAOAO volunteered at the Pink Warrior Walk
🩺 SOMA spends afternoons with City Youth
🍬 Students made Halloween candy bags for the community

Even through the trials of medical school, our student doctors choose to go above and beyond on impacting our local community! Way to go, student doctors!

Ambassador Karley Bloesch said this about why mental health in medical school is so important:
