After her talk she offered chair massages to those who wanted one. My job at that time was as a customer service representative sitting behind a computer with a pair of headphones day after day. This position had taken a toll on my body. I also did work as an apartment caretaker. The day-to-day duties of cleaning apartments, shoveling snow during the winter, and all other activities that the job e
ntailed had also done its number on me. After receiving my first chair massage I noticed that I had easier movement in my shoulders and the soreness in my lower back had all but disappeared. From that point on I received massages on a regular basis. In 2007 I moved to Kalamazoo from Minnesota to start a new chapter in my life. One day I was driving and noticed a sign that read, “Professional Massage Training Starting Soon.” My friend urged me to think about enrolling, and now I am glad I did. I have a family member who has had a lot of health issues and their doctor had mentioned that massage would help ease the symptoms they were experiencing. I felt driven to help this person to be able to live a more fulfilling life. It seems to be working as they do not have as much disabling pain, they sleep a more deeper sleep, they have increased mobility, and their energy level seems to have improved. Due to the increased mobility and energy level they have been able to lose weight. I feel a deep need to help others as I do my family members. I am now happy to announce that my massage business is in operation. I will strive to make the services as convenient as necessary for my customers. I am pleased to offer my massage therapy services to Portage, MI and surrounding areas.
