28 years ago TODAY, I was r***d.

The events leading to and following after are not important at THIS moment or for the point of this post.

Today and today especially, is a day when validation, affirmation, and love FROM others is shoved down our throats to such a degree that the idea of being intrinsically lovable is almost impossible.

I don’t say this because I personally feel at all unlovable by other others. In fact, I KNOW how loved and appreciated I am….

I say this, however, to note that as long as we feel unlovable outside the “other’s” perspective, NOTHING FROM THE WORLD MATTERS! (unfortunately, so many look outward to validate an inward reality)

Which leads me to describe how being r***d has EVERYTHING to do with a woman’s self concept, her sense of value and worth, not to mention sexual identity, how she treats and views men in her life, and stability in relationships of ANY KIND!

Much of how we view ourself, define ourself, identify with our world is through the lens of what is at the heart of so much political debate, human atrocities, and sexual division.

It is also where we are most vulnerable!

THOUGHT IT WAS MY CAT! 🤣

I woke this morning to some light banging around and commotion in the kitchen.

My cat, Apollo, is only JUST coming out of his kitten phase and I thought for sure he was causing mischief and I was gonna have to toss a kitty outside.

As I come peeping around the corner, I find my nearly 16 year old (Joshua) making breakfast for the family for the second time this week.

He made my pink drink, my coffee, protein pancakes and egg whites. Does he know what a business owning, bodybuilding mama needs or what!? lol

To add to this self motivated action, this boy had already gone for his morning run in the frigid Montana morning hours.

2024, on the surface and in the storm of it, appeared to be a pretty tough and honestly odd year for this family.

What it did for us is priceless. It showed us what happens when we allow the wrong energies (yes plural) to come into our orbit.

It taught us the importance of protecting our energy, holding our dreams and life’s missions close to our chest, strengthen our boundaries, and trust only those who have MORE than proven their trustworthiness.

It has brought us close together again!

It led us to a season of healing and rebuilding.

FEELING GRATEFUL FOR LIFE’S EXPERIENCES!

The Governor’s Ball in Helena was a pretty cool experience.
I’m continually humbled by the way in which life presents opportunities such as these to include me in.

I often find myself asking, why me? Why this? What did I do to “deserve” this? What’s expected of me now? 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️

For almost ten year’s Ed has been an intricate part of my family’s life and we go to a lot of events together. He has also shown up as a guide for my boys in work and life. As this evening came to a close, a thought and the answer to my previous questions entered my heart.

Sometimes the answer is to simply and earnestly show up authentically and purely!

Ed and I met first at a gym I trained out of. He needed some help with strength and rehabilitation.

For those of you who have worked with me, I don’t just train people in the gym or work with them superficially. They become like family to me. We end up doing many things in life together. Right Hilary Dennis? Haha

I can’t help it. I care deeply and it’s not something I can shut off. I can’t help but be the person to show up when needed. I know deeply what it’s like to only have yourself.

So once you’re in my life, you’re kind of always a part of my life. For better or worse I love for life, I guess.

It’s also exhausting. Hahah. 🥰 THOUGH I wouldn’t change a thing!!

I hope in the next days and months we see more thoughtfulness, selflessness, and compassion shown to one another through honesty and authenticity.

People need people. To say otherwise is just ignorant.

Thank you Ed for being one of those people that shows up for others with all your heart!! Thank you for always showing up for me and my family!!

NOTHING EXCITES ME MORE…

Then when clients ACTUALLY do as they’re taught and told and achieve the results THEY ASKED FOR!

What a concept right? Lmao

In fact, it’s a challenge.

It’s a challenge to find what inspires, encourages, and pushes a person to begin this journey let alone maintain it and reach their goals.

Because it really is about THEM…and THEIR commitment and work.

I have 3 Pillars that have led to my success with clients, client retention, and client success

Trust and Honesty
Modeling
Listening to

Trust is to be earned and established and can only be done with Honesty and Transparency

Modeling is how I show up in my own personal life, for them, and with AUTHENTICITY and humility

Listening NOT to the words of the client…but to what they are NOT saying. This means listening to the body and how IT communicates.

I am grateful every day for the people brought into my life that I get the opportunity to work with.

To watch lightbulbs continually go off

No matter the age, experience level, or fears….

My job is to help them achieve their goals by MEETING THEM EACH ON THEIR LEVEL AND WHERE THEY’RE AT!

‼️RIGHT DOES NOT EQUAL EASY‼️

I have 4 amazing boys…2 that are now young men

Here is my baby. We went to the ballgame with my girl, Amy Galt, who had a couple extra tickets.

When the sun shone on us it was bearable…when it tucked behind a cloud and the wind picked up…it was frigid

The stands were pretty empty on this blustery evening, so Amy and I decided to sit in the seats that were empty and in the sun.

NOT OUR TICKETED SEATS

Trystan made a mention of this right away. Pointing out that we shouldn’t sit in seats we didn’t pay for.

I told him the seats we had tickets for were in the shade and it was MUCH colder over there and that we would move if someone came with tickets for wherever we were sitting in the sun.

He seemed to accept that compromise.

Technically, he is right. We had tickets for specific seats for a reason.

The idea of doing the “right” thing would NOT have been EASY and downright physically uncomfortable, perhaps unbearable. We didn’t want to be uncomfortable, so why be if we didn’t HAVE too.

I use this trivial anecdote to make the point of doing the right thing because the vast majority of us can relate to that scenario. And I would venture to guess MOST of us would have chosen the warmer seats.

There are, however, other more vital life choices we make every day and I wonder how often we pause to consider whether it’s the right choice as opposed to the “easier” and more comfortable one.

I chose to be a mom! It hasn’t always been easy, in fact, rarely has it been “easy.” For me, these 4 boys are the right choice!

Every day, as I get out of bed to do the things I HAVE and CHOOSE to do in order to provide, protect, and nurture this little nest of mine, I don’t even have to remind myself of my number 1 mission.

It’s innate. I made a promise to these lives and I will every day live up to that promise to the best of my ability.

As I drive towards my IFBB pro card, it may seem like a selfish endeavor (and def not an easy personal goal), in reality it adds to my credentials as a professional thus raising my legitimacy in my field and ultimately my income level.

Again, right not being easy!
