"The charity Doctors Without Borders said in a message there had been more than 30 hits on hospitals in eastern Aleppo since early July. "Doctors are few and medical supplies are depleted, with no possibility of sending more supplies in," it said.

Health and rescue workers have previously been able to bring damaged hospitals back into operation but a lack of supplies is making that harder."

All hospitals in Syria's besieged rebel-held eastern Aleppo are out of service after days of heavy air strikes, its health directorate and the World Health Organization (WHO) said, though a war monitor said some were still functioning.

Global Involvement Chair will coordinate our communication with partners abroad, hopefully in Haiti and Tanzania. Will work closely with GHLO advisors and students interested in international electives and future long-term medical work abroad.

Local Involvement Chair will help and lead efforts/education in KC focusing on the medical needs of people who are temporarily homeless or victims of human trafficking.

Education Facilitators will have joint responsibility for selecting topics for monthly meetings and coordinating awareness months with a booth in the med school lobby (every other month). Two or more people will hold this position allowing for flexibility in schedule.

Finances Chair will mainly lead minor fundraising throughout the year and contact sponsors/vendors for the annual global health summit in April. He or she will lead a discussion on how to choose an ethical charity at one monthly meeting.

Public Relations Chair will not be only limited to Facebook posts, flyers, and emails. These tasks will be split between board members while PR Chair will contact speakers for the summit, connect students with global health mentors in the KC area and teach GHIG members methods and practices of ethically portraying recipients of medical relief.
