Another great day in Drug Court! Dalton was voted MVP for this past month of July.

Every month, participants vote for which peer they believe is putting in good, honest effort to their program, utilizing their supports and the tools they’re learning, and overall demonstrating the values and expectations of Drug Court.

So congratulations to Dalton for the effort he applies towards himself and his recovery, the example he sets for his peers in the program, and his commitment to compliance with the program! Way to go Dalton!!

For those who have been touched by the passing of Deputy Elijah Ming, please consider joining the Candlelight Vigil to share your respects and share in community.

Deputy Ming is close to the Drug Court community’s hearts as well, as he would often work with our team and participants, and sat in on court and graduations whenever he was able. Sending thoughts and prayers to all who are mourning or feeling this loss, especially the Ming family and the KCKPD.

In honor of the sacrifice given by Deputy Ming, the Wyandotte County Sheriff's Office and the Unified Government will hold a candlelight vigil on Wednesday, July 30, at 8:30 p.m. in front of the Wyandotte County Courthouse (710 N 7th Street).

Parking will be available in lots 1, 2, 3, and E. Lots 1 and 2 are on the West side of Memorial Hall, and lots 3 and E are East of City Hall on both the North and South sides of the street. The Kansas City Kansas Fire Department will be assisting with transporting individuals who may be unable to walk long distances.

We know the support from our community is strong and we hope to see you there to honor and remember Deputy Ming.
