On Monday, the Biden Administration announced that it intends to end the Covid-19 National Public Health Emergency Declarations on May 11, 2023. This will change government funding of certain pandemic related initiatives, and will also have an effect on regulatory flexibilities that were put in place during that period.

Ending the PHE will also affect access to funds and resources that pay for personal protective equipment such as masks, tests, vaccines, and etc. There's no doubt that the effects will be seen all throughout the entire medical supply chain.

What effects do you expect the medical supply chain to experience from this?

The end of the emergency, planned for May 11, will bring about a complex set of policy changes and signals a new chapter in the government’s pandemic response.

In order for hospitals to navigate the increased financial pressures in this "endemic" phase, do you believe they should focus less on "being all things for all people," and more on what they can control?

What an interesting take here. There is no doubt that the "emergency use" measures given for many medical supplies and products during the pandemic definitely changed the market, as well as, access to them.

Do you think these emergency measures should continue to stay in place, or would society benefit from changes to them, as we navigate through the "endemic" phase?
