Answer:Proper tongue posture, lips sealed and nasal breathing, of course! This was not achieved by sheer willpower and myofunctional therapy exercises alone. For me it involved treating structural concerns such as a tongue tie along with Myofunctional therapy and AWARENESS. Myofunctional Therapy is definitely not just for developing children! Proper tongue posture not only helps with exercise, and general relaxation, but it can improve the quality and quantity of your sleep. The results are dependent on your ability and willingness to commit to all aspects of the program, but everyone can receive benefits from proper orofacial function!!!

Tongue posture and lip seal are only one part of the requirements for beneficial sleep, but they are a MUST. 🤔Maybe you just have a habit that needs correction with Neuromuscular reeducation through Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy. 🤔Maybe there are structural concerns as well. Myofunctional therapy is about getting to the root cause of mouth breathing, poor tongue posture, poor lip seal and improper swallowing and not simply doing exercises. Good sleep=health, and Myofunctional therapy is a great way to improve your chances of getting better sleep.

Nasal hygiene is a very important aspect of overall health, but many of us don't think about the importance of keeping our nasal passage clear so that we can better nasal breathe. Let's clear our nasal passages so that they can work too filter as they were intended. There are many great sinus rinse products out there to help as well, including XLEAR. Once the sinuses have been flushed don't forget to gently blow. Enjoy your spring and don't let the pollen keep you from taking in the beauty of the season!

So I happen to have more than one MyoMunchee that I use myself! I place one my my work desk, one in my kitchen, and one in my bathroom.
✨As a hygienist I believe, much like floss, in sight=in mind:) The more you have in various rooms the more they are likely to be used!
✨Since I mentioned in previous video that I was using one without the handle, I wanted to clarify what that meant. Here I am working on relaxing those facial muscles, nasal breathing, trying to seal my lips better and relaxing while using a MyoMunchee with the handle still attached. Tremendous way to end a hectic day, and and stimulate the vagus nerve!
🚗Works great in carpool lines too, and once the kids get in the car make sure to give them their’s too😉😉

I started Myofunctional Therapy training very skeptically but hopefully. I think we all should do as much research as possible before jumping into anything that can affect our health, especially if it is new to you. What I found through peer reviewed articles and case studies was the potential for multiple benefits from a therapy modality that is focused on correcting deleterious habits, and strengthening the face and tongue! How could I not get on board with at least trying to help my own family restore proper function with a non-invasive natural option. It is about so much more than tongue ties and mewing🤭! It is about breath work, posture, nervous systems, facial growth, sleep quality, facial tone and so much more!
If we believe in exercising our body for health and longevity then why wouldn't we care for the muscles that lead to the rest of the body???? I started because of hope(Spero) for some untreated issues in my own children, I continue for hope for anyone else looking for the missing pieces that could be holding them or their child back!

If you or your child are already in a Myofunctional therapy program, this was made especially for you! It's no longer said that it takes only 21 days to start a habit, but something more like 66 days and above depending on the difficulty of the new habit desired. This is how we make real change for longterm goals! If you haven't been told yet by anyone "You can do it!"

These are some common reasons for seeing me for Myofunctional therapy! These of course are not the only reasons one would consider Orofacial Myofunctional therapy, but these are some major issues that lead to other more serious health problems if left untreated that a Myofunctional therapist can help you improve! Message me to learn how mouth breathing/snoring/tongue thrusting and TMJ issues can affect you in ways that aren't always obvious!
Poll:Did you know that mouth breathing can put you in a state of stress?

LOL. She was playing with filters while getting her Myo Munchee time in🤣! This child suffers from severe sleep apnea, and she was one of my reasons for getting extra training to specialize in Myofunctional therapy as a Dental Hygienist! We are on a mission to help her improve her breathing through Myofunctional therapy, complementary modalities/treatments as needed such as palatal expansion and breathing exercises, and amazing tools like the Myo Munchee. The Myo Munchee is an integral part of helping her and in helping many of my Myofunctional therapy clients. It truly complements what I teach with tactile input and stimulation! There are so many benefits that I cannot even name them all here! They are best used under the care of a trained Myofunctional therapist to get optimal results! Just a few Myo Munchee benefits here⬇️
❗️Habit replacer. ❗️Improved overall health through chewing.
❗️Potential to decrease snoring due to weak oral muscles and decrease sleep apnea symptoms
❗️For babies into adulthood to be used in specific ways for each age group and need(Myo therapist can help)
❗️Potential for airway improvement, proper tongue posture, and proper swallowing which all lead to reducing Myofunctional disorders. ✨Message me to set up your comprehensive evaluation today! Speromyo@gmail.com

So many children, including my own, are accustomed to eating a primarily soft food diet consisting of french fries, pasta, and chicken nuggets. This, of course, includes little to no raw veggies and meats that require chewing. Chewing is a vital aspect of proper facial and palatal growth. Myo-Munchees are a great, inexpensive tool that I use with my clients to help correct this lack of use and guide the tongue to the proper position for rest and swallowing. Adults have also found them useful! Check out the website or call me for more information!

Our goal is to provide education to the public and practitioners about the long term impacts of poor oral health, lifestyle and underdeveloped jaws and how they affect future well being.
