Hey team Sadie!

Sorry it’s been awhile. We are trying to get into the swing of things of being semi normal.

Sadie is doing great! We are at her 2nd monthly count check and everything looks good other than her IVIG count. So today she will get a transfusion that should help boost her immune system. She did have to be accessed for this. She did great for not being accessed in almost 2 months.

We are hopefully she will have her port removed in the coming weeks and make a return to completely normal.

We hope everyone is doing well ❤️

Hey Team Sadie!!

We officially have one more week until Sadie rings the bell!!!

She is doing great! She was having issues with leg pain again but we seemed to have figured it out with medication changes. She is loving school!

It’s been a very long 3 years. There will be a lot of adjustments as we figure out life after cancer with her.

Next week will will post the video of her celebration. The following day she will be downtown at the hospital for a bone marrow aspiration and lumbar puncture to ensure she is cancer free. She could definitely use some prayers for these procedures.

Hey Team Sadie!!

Sorry it’s been awhile since our last update. Life has been crazy with 3 kids, school and sports. We are finally in a good routine so that’s a bonus.

Sadie is doing great!! She is loving school and making new friends. She received an award last week for the character trait of the month, responsibility. At her parent/teacher conference her teacher said she has the kindest heart. She always makes sure everyone has a friend to play with and no one is left out. She’s the mom of the class. Always helping others. And of course she gives the best hugs.

Now the big exciting news…. SADIE WILL RING THE BELL ON 11/15. Just 4 weeks away!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉 it’s been a long road to get here and we are anxious for the end of treatment. She will have a lumbar puncture and bone marrow aspirate the following day to make sure there are no leukemia cells.

Although she will be off treatment there will still be a lot of appointments. She will still be on fever protocol for a month after treatment until her port is removed. Sadie will have blood work done once a month to make sure she remains cancer free. There will be a lot of evaluations and follow ups but those are a drop in the bucket compared to the last 3 years. We don’t know what our new normal will look like but we are optimistic. More than half of Sadie’s life has involved cancer treatment. So it’s going to take a lot of time to adjust. Sadie has a MASSIVE list of things to do that she’s missed out on for 3 years. The top of her list is a big cruise with family and friends in May to celebrate.

As always thank y’all for following along on Sadie’s journey. Thank y’all for all the love, prayers, and support. It has meant so much to us.

Be on the lookout for the video of Sadie ringing the bell 💪🏻🧡

Hey Team Sadie!!

We are officially in the single digits now with 9 more weeks to go 🎉🎉🎉

Sadie’s counts are on a roller coaster right now. Her ANC has continued to drop over the past 4 weeks. She will stay home from school until at least next Wednesday. She is not happy but understands why. This is all a completely normal part of treatment. When her counts are this low she only receives 1/2 of her normal chemo dose.

Last week her IVIG level was low so she got that transfusion yesterday. This should help her counts come up and give her immune system a nice boost. IVIG has always been a tricky one for her. She gets a lot of pre meds before the transfusion. Two things usually happy with her. She is either very combative or very sleepy. Thankfully yesterday was just sleepy.

So we will spend the next week home watching lots of movies and reading books.

Thank you for all of the support 🧡

Hey Team Sadie!!

🎉🎉🎉 12 more weeks of treatment 🎉🎉🎉

It’s getting closer and closer. Yesterday was clinic and we are happy to report Sadie’s counts are good. Her issues with neuropathy in her feet has come up again so we are starting those meds again. So far they are helping.

She is loving school and making new friends. She has always been independent but we are seeing more and more of it.

Sadie has her first loose tooth. She is so excited for a visit from the tooth fairy to visit.

Thank you for following along with us 🧡

Hey Team Sadie!!

Sorry it’s been awhile since our last post. The last month of summer is always crazy!

Sadie has 13 more weeks of treatment left 🎉🎉🎉 We are so close to her ringing that bell 🧡 She got her weekly chemo through her port and will continue her nightly chemo.

Yesterday Sadie had Meet the Teacher for kindergarten. She is really excited for the first day of school tomorrow. We already warned the teacher that she’s a talker lol

Her counts continue to stay steady. We are praying she remains healthy for the final weeks of treatment and she doesn’t miss any school.

Hey Team Sadie!!

Let’s start with 18 more weeks!!!!

After last Tuesday’s clinic Sadie is feeling much better! Her counts have returned to normal. We are still dealing with some nausea but it’s pretty normal for her.

We have decided it’s best to go back to weekly clinic visits. We believe part of her issues were with weekly chemo pills. So she is go back to receiving this chemo through her port.

Today is a longer day as she is getting IVIG to help boost her immune system. Tomorrow she will have a physical therapy evaluation. This is part of her treatment plan with St Jude.

We hope everyone is staying cool this summer. Thank y’all for following along

Hey Team Sadie! We hope everyone had a great 4th of July!

Today was clinic day. It turned out to be longer than expected. This morning around 1am Sadie starting throwing up. We got her cleaned up and gave her her nausea meds and back to sleep she went. She woke up again around 5 and threw up. Again cleaned up and new nausea med on board and some Gatorade back to sleep she went. Getting her up to go to her appointment was a little rough. She was very pale and exhausted. Once there she threw up again. We were able to get her accessed. After talking with her doctor and labs done we set a game plan of IV zofran and fluids. Sadie was severely dehydrated and her sugar was extremely low. Once we got her meds on board and fluids started she perked up some. A cup of apple juice and a popsicle really helped. She finally started eating crackers. She really wanted grapes and strawberries.

After talking with her team and going over the past month of meds and how she has felt we have decided oral weekly chemo is not for her. We have found on those weeks she is nauseous more days than not and having to use nausea meds a lot more. So next week we will go back to our weekly clinic visits so her weekly chemo can been given through her port. Hopefully we will notice a big change.

She is home and resting now. IV zofran always knocks her on her butt. In the picture you would never guess she wasn’t feeling good at all. She is an amazing kid. Although today is not a countdown picture we have 19 weeks left 🎉🎉🎉
