This is probably the last photo you would ever think would be on a skincare account, but I talk a lot about self care and I think this is an important message.
This was in middle of Fall season, and I was exhausted.
As a small business owner, that means vendor markets and events, while simultaneously gearing up for holiday season and keeping inventory in stock. September-December is a whirlwind time that swings between excitement and extra busyness to meeting deadlines and being sure quarterly taxes are paid on time, to seeing EVERYONE and living it all, and so much more.
In this photo:
Yup, that’s me eating a burger in my bed in bad lighting, a forced smile, and my ugly wash day sheets that yes I hate.
Here’s what’s behind the scenes:
The level of exhaustion that just had me wanting to sleep without eating dinner that day. But hubby knew I do that too often, and my body really needed me to eat so he brought this to me. And I enjoyed it.
We usually think of self care as things we do for ourselves but sometimes the most nourishing act is to let someone else support us by accepting help, being cared for, and not carrying everything.
This can feel uncomfortable at first but work on leaning into help that is offered.
• Receiving is not weakness
• Shared load = lighter load
• Connection builds joy
This month, I’m sharing how to care for yourself through self love and real life routines. And sometimes we need support in our routines.
You are worthy of rest and support.
