Melanie Van Noy MS, CCC-SLP, CLC, CNT, NTMTC, owner/manager of The Feeding Connection is a Speech Pathologist and Board Certified Lactation Consultant who specializes in infant feeding and swallowing. With certifications as a Neonatal Therapist and in Neonatal Touch and Massage, she is passionate about serving moms, their babies, and solidifying the connection between parents and children during the feeding process. Melanie has been practicing since 2011 as a Speech Pathologist and 2014 as a Lactation Profession. She is ready and waiting to help you make the Feeding Connection!

Hi! I’m Mel, the heart behind The Feeding Connection 🤍 I’m a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) and IBCLC, leading a team of amazing clinicians who truly stand out in the way they care for families.

At TFC, we know every baby is unique, and our care reflects that. We offer a comprehensive, whole-family approach with feeding therapy, lactation support, dietitian services, occupational therapy and hands-on training — so you’re never left doing it alone.

We believe support and education are key to sailing through this season. You’ll be cared for, prayed for, and never left hanging. Struggling isn’t in our vocabulary — we’re always working toward continued progress until you & your Baby are thriving.

We serve families at our Keller and Saginaw offices, and also offer home visits 🤍 We accept most insurance plans — you can check your coverage on our website. You don’t have to wait until things feel overwhelming — connecting with us early ensures your little one gets the care and support they need.

✨ Breastmilk Fruit Pops ✨
A simple, soothing treat that your little one will love — especially during teething or when they’re feeling a bit under the weather.

These tiny pops are packed with comfort:
🍼 Breastmilk gives familiar taste + antibodies to support your baby when they’re sick.
❄️ Cold temperature helps calm sore, swollen gums during teething.
🍓 Fruit adds gentle flavor exposure for babies beginning solids (6+ months).

How to make them:
1. Add a small spoonful of your chosen fruit purée (strawberry, mango, banana, pear, blueberry).
2. Pour breastmilk over the top.
3. Freeze for 3–4 hours.
4. Pop out and let baby explore with supervision.

✨ Wisdom Wednesday from Melanie✨

My face when a patient tells me she pumped all night and left herself bruised trying to clear a clog 😩🤦‍♀️
Mama… please don’t hurt yourself. There’s a safer and much more effective way to help your body heal. 💗

At The Feeding Connection, here’s what we recommend instead:

❄️ Cool compresses
Helps reduce swelling and inflammation so milk can move more easily.

🤲 VERY gentle massage
Think soft, sweeping motions toward the armpit — not digging, pushing, or squeezing. Too much pressure can make things worse.

💊 Talk to your doctor about anti-inflammatories
Reducing inflammation is key. This can sometimes be more helpful than pumping itself.

🚫 Do NOT overstimulate
Pumping on high suction, pumping for long stretches, or “power pumping” through pain can increase swelling and make the clog harder to resolve.

💧 Stay hydrated & rest when you can
Your body clears clogs faster when you’re supported, not stressed.

If you’re struggling with a clog, pain, or repeated issues — you don’t have to figure it out alone.
