Sometimes, I feel like I’ve lost a little piece of myself. Not in a dramatic way, but in that quiet, everyday way that comes after the sleepless nights, the endless feedings, the constant “mom” mode. You pour so much of yourself into growing tiny humans—breastfeeding, soothing, teaching, loving—and somewhere along the way, you realize the person you were before all this… feels a little farther away.
It’s a strange space to be in. Your babies still need you, but the way they need you is changing. They’re growing, exploring, becoming their own little people, and you watch in awe… and also in a little bit of panic. Who am I now, if my identity isn’t wrapped up in every bottle, every diaper, every bedtime story?
And yet, even in this uncertainty, there’s excitement. There’s a next chapter waiting—a life where you still love and nurture, but also reclaim the parts of yourself that feel lost. A chapter where purpose isn’t just measured in feedings or milestones, but in who you are beyond “mom.”
It’s okay to feel both lost and hopeful. It’s okay to grieve a version of yourself that existed before the world revolved around tiny humans. And it’s okay to be excited for what comes next—even if you’re not quite sure how to navigate it yet. You’ll find your way. You always do.
