Never disagree?
Well, that might not be such a great thing.😧😰
Yes, you may have a lot in common with your loved one but endless agreements usually mean your relationship is lacking depth.
People are as unique as snowflakes. We notice differences in each other at some point.❄️
Relationships that have developed healthy skills of simultaneously being real and respectful are the ones you see thriving years on end.
It’s healthy and normal to have different viewpoints. Disagreements are still challenging though, right?They can rock the boat of your relationship for sure!🌊
💡Ask yourself:
1.) How do I feel inside when my loved ones present an opposing view?

2.) How do I tend to respond? Do I isolate, pretend to agree, debate, become angry, or am I curious?

3.) How is my current pattern of response helping me achieve my relational aspirations?

4.) How can I challenge myself to become more curious, gentle, and less rushed for solutions the next time a difference presents?

5.) How can I “water” my most important relationships in order to better protect them from damage?

Also, go back and nurture & protect that INNER CHILD of yours too!

Developmental trauma is a real thing. Your inner child who may have become “stuck” is a real thing too.
There’s hope though.
😊🌱☀️
Humans are amazingly resilient, provided they receive the necessary care to move forward.
Is your inner self the same age as your chronological self?
(Usually not 100% for most of us.)
When you think back to things several years ago, do any of them make you feel depressed, devastated, ashamed, angry, or inferior to those around you?
Or do you look back and simply reflect on memories of things you overcame?
There’s a difference.
✅ Quick test: Ask yourself what things currently stress you out the most.

Now explore if the strengths required to navigate those stressors require skills NOT modeled for you growing up.
Anything come to mind?
Write or record your thoughts and talk them over with your therapist.
Note: the tips given above 👆 are NOT therapy but rather tools to enhance your self-awareness and make your therapy sessions even better.

Guess what! You are making 1 of 4 choices nearly every moment of your life:
1. Avoid
2. Change
3. Accept
4. Leave
The first option tends to feel initially low anxiety but exponentially increases anxiety over time.
The following 3 options entail some level of initial anxiety and then later subside, once the newness of the decision wears off.
💡Embracing that initial level of anxiety is the KEY to overcoming avoidance. 💡
Change is uncomfortable. Acceptance and leaving can also place great strain.
So, how do you cope???😧
•Know your why.
•Consult someone who’s already faced a similar situation.
•Talk to a friend about it.
• See your therapist if you feel stuck.
Your choice impacts not only your life but many others.
Take some time to journal about your fears and possible outcomes.
Life is scary but you can do it!!!

Not everyone deserves or should know our deepest selves. True.
However, if NO ONE knows your deepest self, take some time to think about that.🤔🤔🤔
Ask yourself:
1.) Am I hurting right now?
2.) What might my hurt be trying to tell me I need?
3.) Next year at this time, how do I hope to have met those needs? Think bandaid vs. ointment.
4.) Should I reach out to a professional for direction or is this just a brief passing period of time?
5.) If I’m not hurting, have I become numb or perhaps overly inward focused? Who are “my” people?
6.) How might I better recognize and use my talents to contribute to the lives of others?
7.) What one small thing can I do today to bring enhanced balance and wellbeing into my life?
Being seen and having the honor of seeing others as who they REALLY are is what life is all about!
