IAFF Local 3828 is comprised of professional firefighters serving Kelso, unincorporated Longview, and Castle Rock Washington.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in September for our Tap Takeover fundraiser with With this money we raised we were able to go to 3 different elementary schools in Kelso, measure and distribute over 140 coats to keep kids warm this winter!!! Stay safe, and have Happy Holidays

Make sure you keep your Saturday open! This Saturday, September 27th the Tap Takeover is taking place at Explorer Brewing Company. All proceeds are going to Operation Warm Coats for Kids! If you have time, stop by to support. There will be Food, Drinks, and Raffles. Hope to see you all there!

🔥Bear Gulch Fire 2025🔥

Cowlitz Strike team is home and safe from the . The crew mainly worked on protecting structures in the area but were involved with various other tasks as well.

2025 Burdoin Fire.

Last Friday, 5 of our own headed east to Klickitat County to help fight the Burdoin Fire with the Cowlitz Strike Team. Currently they are on night shift working hard to contain the fire. They are conquering tasks like digging line and doing Burn Ops.

We are thankful for the Klickitat County community for keeping our crew and all other fire personnel happy, healthy, and well taken care of!

We also want to thank our crew and other crews on the fire for all the hard work!

Come join Local 3828 and Explorer Brewing as we raise money for Operation Warm! Operation Warm is national nonprofit that manufactures brand new, high quality coats for children in need.

The money raised through this event will go to our benevolent fund that will then be used to purchase coats to students in greatest need as identified by the elementary schools in Kelso. Help keep our community warm this winter! There will be food, great beer, and raffles.

This event will be family friendly from 3-5pm then from 5-9pm it will be 21+

Today marks the beginning of an incredible journey for six of our newest recruits as they step into the firefighter academy! 🚒🔥 Their commitment and courage will be put to the test, but we have no doubt they’re ready to rise to the challenge. Here’s to the long hours of training, the teamwork, and the dedication it takes to become a firefighter. We’re proud to support you as you embark on this path of service and heroism. Stay strong and keep pushing forward!

It’s been a busy year for our local already, and while many fires have already been fought, we wanted to highlight a special one. One of our newest members (Bacon) got to put some work in on his first fire with us 🔥💪🏽 accompanied by his peer Herge! Cheers to many more !!

“We are the family of Jessica Blinebry, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. On the evening of May 24, 2024, Jessica was struck and killed by a drunk driver while her and her husband Casey were offering assistance to another vehicle that had crashed. Jessica, age 42, is survived by her husband and four beautiful children. We would like to raise money to assist in funeral expenses for this unexpected loss. Jessica was a selfless, brilliant, witty, hardworking, beautiful soul. She will forever be missed.”
