Today is world mental health day. The purpose is mental health education, awareness and advocacy against social stigma. Your mental health is as important as your physical health, and should be cared for in the same way. Practice self care, check in with those around you, and remember it's always ok to take a mental health day if you need it! Starting in November we anticipate a huge boom in COVID-19 PCR testing. We want to start putting out reminders that the lab who processes the test samples has a strict limit of 50 tests A DAY, pre-registering DOES NOT guarantee a test, and that with the increased amount of tests the turn-around time for results also increases. Unfortunately, last year we had to turn people away due to the staggering number of registrations we received, and those who did test waited up to 10 days to get their results. We do have the at home rapid tests available for purchase, and will be doing our best to keep a steady stock throughout the holiday season.

October is breast cancer awareness month. Preventative medicine is the best medicine, and mammograms are key in detecting breast cancer and getting treatment started as early as possible. The American College of Radiology recommends annual screening mammograms for all women over 40, regardless of symptoms or family history, however, speak with your healthcare provider about what is best for you individually.

First day of Autumn is (finally!!) here. Time to trade in your sunscreen and beach days for sweaters and school days. First day of fall also means it's flu shot season. We are still unable to order any doses of the Moderna bivalent formula, so at this time any appointments scheduled for a Moderna booster will be for the ORIGINAL formula. We will continue to update availability for this vaccine at our pharmacy. On the other hand, flu shots are in and ready! You don't need an appointment for your flu shot, we happily welcome walk-ins.
