Cardiorespiratory fitness reflects how efficiently your heart, lungs, blood vessels, and muscles deliver and use oxygen during activity. The higher your capacity, the better your body can meet physical demands, both in exercise and daily life!

This is why it’s consistently shown to be one of the strongest predictors of cardiovascular health and all-cause mortality.

During our fitness assessments, we perform estimated VO₂ max testing to objectively measure this system. VO₂ max helps us determine:
• Your current aerobic capacity
• Appropriate training zones and intensities
• Whether you’re under-training or over-training
• How your program should progress over time

It turns “doing cardio” into purposeful, individualized training!

On Tuesday morning, We had the opportunity to host an in-service at Kenmore Mercy Hospital, leading two separate sessions with the OR and PACU teams!

We focused on simple, effective stretches designed to help them prepare their bodies for the physical demands of the day ahead… long hours, static postures, and repetitive movements.

Supporting healthcare professionals by giving them tools to take care of their own bodies is something we’re incredibly passionate about. Thank you to the OR and PACU staff for welcoming us in and prioritizing your health and longevity at work!

If you have a future staff development day and are looking to bring something fun, interactive and educational to your place of work, we can absolutely accommodate! Hosting individual stretch sessions, teaching a group stretch class or simply making the session purely educational on a topic such as body mechanics and having good posture, these are all things we have done before with different groups of people 😁

This month, we’re excited to spotlight Liana, one of the true OGs of Stretchd Out Buffalo! From the early days to now, she’s been a consistent part of our community, and we couldn’t be more grateful for her continued trust and support.

Liana is a huge advocate for staying active beyond the walls of SOB. She consistently puts in the work on her own, especially as a dedicated runner, and truly embodies what it means to commit to long-term wellness. She understands that recovery, mobility, and movement all work together, and she shows up with intention every step of the way!

We’re incredibly proud of Liana for always putting herself and her health first. Her commitment to movement, balance, and self-care is exactly what Stretchd Out Buffalo is all about and we’re honored to be part of her journey!
